Also interested in local trades for a good US Telecaster or a non-pedal steel, a Pardini PGP75, or..?

Local means that you're in Southeast Michigan ;-)

SOLD pending payment: Like new Stage One pedal steel

I've had this steel for about two months now, and that was long enough for me to determine that I just don't have the time to devote to really learning pedal steel if I'm going to keep up my guitar, bass, and banjo chops. This is an almost brand new Stage One in Teak finish, with all the current fea...

FS: SX 8 String lap steel with legs and case. SOLD pending

This is the 8-string non-pedal steel that Rondo Music sells for $188 new when they have them. I'm selling it as I've decided to stick with 6 strings for now. $120 plus shipping from 48070 on 13 pounds, not to exceed $25. Regular PayPal or USPS Money Order payment is preferred. http://bb.steelguitarf...

Fixing a Rondo bridge

I bought one of the inexpensive Rondo lap steels that come with an arched Gibson style bridge that makes it extremely difficult to play. I was planning on machining a piece of steel rod to sit on the bridge studs when I saw a Gretsch bridge on eBay for about $8.95. The Gretsch is 3/8" high, so ...

Points taken. I'm on the waiting list for a Stage One. In the meantime I'll keep playing my C6 lap steel... or should I retune it in E? ;-)

Great advice from both of you, thanks. I think I'm more of a guitar player looking to get some steel sounds, but I'm still intrigued by the idea of a full steel setup. The difference in price is small enough that I'm leaning towards the full ten strings.

6 or 10?

I know this topic has been covered before, still... I've been playing guitar, old time banjo, mandolin and other stringed instruments for many years, and lately I've been messing around with a lap steel in C6. I'm thinking I'd like to get something with pedals and a bit more harmonic flexibility. My...
