Danny,I have a Magnatone lap steel. It's Mother of toilet seat blue,6-stringed,has real nice tone, very clean.Actually, one of the not so wonderful aspects of it is it's almost too clean.Made in the 40's but is still in great shape.I like it.It's also for sale.

Jim, I am unfortunately electronically challenged.I will check the reverb connection, but will have to find the component in the schematic before I can do anything else.Thank you for your input. Marley<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by marley hay on 15 ...

Another ? for Mike Brown

Mike, my mid-80's Nashville 400 has an annoying habit(recent) of cutting out, kind of the loose wire type of thing, when it's first turned on.This is an intermittant problem and always goes away after a minute or two? The Lemay page said that these amps sometimes develop this when an output transistor...

Just want to pass along an experience to you. I ordered a maple and ebony bridge from Resophonic Outfitters.About a month later I called and spoke to a very pleasant woman, who confirmed mailing it,the address, and said that,no, she had not gotten it back. She said she would mail another one, free of ch...

Tom, as far as the Quarterman cone goes,it is hand spun, using John's own alloy. They are very thin and sensitive.I put one in a Fender FR-50 and turned an entry level reonator into a really nice sounding instrument.A bone nut and maple bridge helped too.

Ed,try calling Paul Beard @301-733-8271,or paulb@beardguitars.com.He is a major distributer of Quarterman cones, and could probably put you in contact with John.<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by marley hay on 24 October 2000 at 06:33 AM.]</p></FONT>

I put an extended bone nut and a Quarterman cone on my Fender FR-50 and it sounds wonderful. All for around $350.00 U.S.It is a round neck though.<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by marley hay on 19 October 2000 at 08:59 PM.]</p></FONT>

Tommy,"I'd be afraid to scratch one of those suckers"It always amazed me Gretsch built those incredibly beautiful guitars, then in order not to scratch them they put 12 snaps on the back, and a big plastic pad over the entire back of the guitar.I'd rather have the scratches!

David,I place my hand vertically over the nut,so I get 4 fingers worth of slack in the string. Then wind the string around the post, allowing the short end to pass under the string. On the second time around, let the short end pass over the string,so that the remaining wraps are going down from the hole...
