The top neck has five tuners on one side and four on the other side.
That's pretty unusual. I don't get a feeling for what tunings were supposed to be used.

What model steel guitar are you trying to improve? What pickups are in the instrument already?

I played one that belonged to the late Ralph Carney a few years back. It was a perfectly decent instrument, with the classic tricone sound. I don't think he had done any upgrades to it, but I liked it anyway.

If you're talking about the TiteFit strings manufactured by DR Strings, I don't see any pedal steel sets in either C6 or E9 tuning.

I'm assuming you want regular six string guitar strings, although they also have seven and eight string sets.

There was a store in Chicago selling T-shirts with the score for 4'33" on the front. I should have bought one when I saw it.

This appears to be home made using parts from a 1950s National guitar.

According to their website, the six string bar is 3/4" Diameter, 2 7/8" Long, 5.2 Ounces, Plain Tapered Nose.
