I went through an all tube phase for bass and am absolutely done. To much weight and never enough dependability. On steel there's a tube preamp and reverb driver in my Half and Half and I tell myself I can hear the difference but who the heck knows. What I do know is that I'll probably never hear en...

Karl...next year you'll just bring a direct box! lol! Ha! The year after that, I'll just hand over a flash drive of backing tracks! Seriously though, I'm not old or in bad shape, but these days weight is a major factor in most gear decisions and it's not even at a premium price point anymore. It bl...

There was a time when playing bass with my first country band (other groups before that)that I lugged around a Carvin 8x10 and a Peavey VB2 (225 watt tube bass amp) to any gig bigger than a small bar. Though I had been gigging a perfectly good Ampeg Portabass head and cab (first gen lightweight bass...

All good ideas.

I could just attach legs to the board but I definitely want a covered transport solution.

I remember seeing the pedal board on opened case before, but I'm definitely set on having the board level with my right hand. Some of these songs require quick effects switching mid-song.

Wierd Idea. Voting booth modified into pedalboard....

I had a crazy idea. I currently have a homemade wood pedalboard that I carry in an aluminum case. At shows I mount it on a modified keyboard stand. It's super handy for playing but it's two things to carry around. I saw a picture of a voting booth on the news and got a brainstorm... What if I purcha...

If you have an upholstery place nearby (furniture or automotive) you can stop in and probably choose from a range of densities matches to your needs/preferences/mass.

That is disappointing to hear. Anyone have a general idea how much Peavey parts are off the shelf available elsewhere?

I better buy the pot to fix my bandit now I guess. If I can find someone selling one.

Acoustic 134 for steel?

Anyone tried one of these?
There's one locally available that has been turned into a head.

Pics I've found show a large reverb tank with level, speed and intensity controls.

I don't know what the used market is like for steel amps in the UK, but here's a dealer who it appears will import Peavey.

If you've already got a Cube and you want to make an investment in your amp, get a dedicated steel guitar amp.

@ Roger.. left-most (bass) down, alternating up/down. Right-most to taste. This is my method for the F&C also, though I adjust the 200 and 400 sliders to taste. I use a glass bottle from Hobby Lobby as my slide and that seems to twang it up a bit also. I don't know that it's as accurate of a so...

Crazy Stereo Digital Reverb

I've got a Fender Marine Layer Reverb. I use it in our set for it's zaniest sound setting: Type-Special, Mode 2, No Filter, most knobs turned almost all the way up. With those settings it has a very present shimmer and a wave of almost synthesized-sounding chordal drone that continues long after the...

All my NV 112s do that. I have to use outboard reverbs. Peavey has lost their way on reverbs. Remember how great the reverb was on the old Session 400s. Sounded like the reverbs on the old Sho Bud amps like Leon Rhodes'. I never liked the Session 400 reverb. It sounded to clangy & metallic comp...

Re: Best amplifier for steel playing

What do steel players think is the best amp for pedal steel playing the Peavy or Fender? Does the cheaper end of these makes have a similar tone? Thanking you all for the answers. James Taylor Scotland I think the overall consensus would be that neither of those companies is making the best steel a...

Consider hunting up a used Fender Rumble 100. You should be able to find one for 2 bills. 100 watts, 12" speaker, only 22 pounds and sounds very good with steel.

Jon and Ivan, From what I've read, the Iset Dumble and Rowin Dumbler are probably the same pedal in a different case. Glad to hear you both like yours also. AJM and John L. I agree with you guys about the basic structure of so many pedals being very similar, and often nearly identical. My problem wa...

Dumble/Dumbler pedals?

Anyone using a Dumble, Dumbler or any of the other pedals that are supposedly related to the ZenDrive? My Bad Horse died and on at the end of an internet rabbit trail, I ordered an Iset "Dumble". It appears to be the same pedal as the Rowin "Dumbler" but it had a cooler looking c...

Just wanted to update my previous comments. Nothing sonically wrong with my Behringer, but it was very big and not a great fit for the compact way I'd built my board to both fit in a case and have 2 levels. Worked out a local deal for a Small Stone Nano and a DD-7 (been wanting a boss digital delay)...

Found this old post. Felt I needed to admit my mistake. If you hook up the F&C between the guitar and the Vol. pedal it is totally quit. Thanks for the tip! Been running it after my volume pedal and tuner. Might add a bit of noise, but not more than the standard Peavey reverb circuit. Be...

It's probably not bad, probably ok with a nice preamp in between amp and acoustic. However, dedicated acoustic amps have gotten so good recently that I think it's worth going that way. My guitarist picked up one of the current small Fishman amps. It is really light, sounds fantastic and is surprisin...

Sold locally please lock. $60 In Chicago. Will deliver locally for a modest upcharge or ship at buyers expense. Nice example of a relatively uncommon Peavey amp from the early 90s. Works very well. My N112 reverb hums badly(no it didn't forget the words)when ever I try to turn it's knob above 4. I was told this was concidered normal by PV. I wonder if one of these tanks would stop the hum?
