Thanks Norman,

I have watched that one, but Mike really cut out a lot of the "tastiness" licks in that version, lol

Together Again, Mike & Joanie Johnson Video

I'm looking for the video of Together Again/ Mike Johnson, and Joanie is singing and playing bass. It is a live gig, and Mike's steel work is fantastic in it (of course!) There are a couple older gents on lead guitars and they sound equally superb. This vid was on youtube for quite awhile but seems ...

Charlie, looks like you are correct. She seems to be playing with that band in a saloon in SC. Sadly, from what I read on the website, the beautiful country sound that she produced with her album is not part of the current song lineup.

It is odd. Her Facebook page has not been updated since 2013 and the website link doesn't work.

Brandy Williams - Mike Johnson

Is Brandy Williams still singing/recording? I cannot find anything recent about her. I know that Mike Johnson is her favorite steel player. I was hoping to find some recent material.

I missed the boat on this one. It was sold almost immediately before I got in contact with the person. I appreciate all the replies though, this is good information.

Questions about BMI SD-12...

I have a chance to purchase a SD-12 BMI. Are they a pull release system?

How many raises/lowers are possible with this guitar?

Are they easy to change the copedent on?

Any other info. is helpful! Thanks!

What's it worth? Emmons S-10 / 3&4

A friend contacted me about her late husband's Emmons. As far as I know, it is a 3 x 4 setup. Hasn't been played for many years, so I'm sure it needs a going over/clean up/tuned up as far as the mechanics go. We are trying to come up with a reasonable price for it. I just saw a beautiful black Emmon...

A real beauty! Kudos to you for rescuing all of the basket cases!

Still, anyone who turns a several thousand dollar guitar into junk is just plum crazy.

Drilling and installing that new pin in the changer was quite the DIY hack, lol.

I remember that one steel you posted a year or so ago, that had all that goopy looking paint on it. That one was a huge mess! :whoa:

Take as much out of the equation as you can to eliminate possible culprits. As you mentioned earlier, take the output directly from the pickup and feed that into the amp. Connect from the pickup contacts to the output jack on the guitar, bypassing all the knobs & switches. Divide & conquer, ...

RKL RAISES 1 an 2 an lowers 6 too F sharp; Having the 6th string lower tied in with the raises presents some problems for some people's style of playing. Mine is set up like this, I would like to change it.

Awesome! For the record, I have owned three Sierra's, and those contact pins can get dirt/dust in them causing them to stick and lose contact. I have sprayed them like you have & then used compressed air to blow all the gunk out.

You mentioned cleaning the pickup contacts. It could also be an issue with one or both of the contact pins on the guitar sticking & making/breaking contact.

Lorraine Chavana - That's the way love goes

Some of you may have heard Lorraine before, I just discovered her. I really like her voice - so smooth. No mention on her website as to who the steeler is, but it's good stuff!
