Dave I have a 1951 Dual Pro and it’s only 30” long but it’s 12” wide. The dimension on that keyboard bag say 10” wide. We’re you able to stretch the bag around in some way to fit a 12” wide steel? Lately I’ve been taking it to rehearsals and gigs. I was relieved to find it will fit in the trunk of m...

What is the scale length?
Can you measure the full string spacing across the saddle and the bridge?
Do you know what pickup is used on this model?
Thanks, John

Very interesting that as per these late 30’s Gibson and National catalogs, the C6 is not even on the map yet. It is mostly variations on A and E. There is one Cmajor tuning mentioned by Gibson. I thought C6 would have been the standard for all the lap steel tunings. Seems it was a later invention. J...

Has anyone been using the Iridium as a DI input to the house PA or acoustic guitar style monitor amps? Or to FRFR speakers?

Also interested in the Walrus Audio ASC1. This is another of these type of amp/speaker/mic emulation units.

Thanks, John.

I've got an SD-10 made by Gary, and he later upgraded mine to Prestige, and its everything you describe about yours.
I had a friend's Franklin here for a week, and had them side by side to compare. Very very similar in sound and quality.

My favorite amps are BF Pro Reverbs. I can’t carry that weight anymore. They are scarcely lighter than a TR. I’ve moved to using my BF Vibrolux Reverb, also an awesome sounding amp, but I don’t love the 2-10” sound at higher volumes. I’ve been bringing a 1-12” cabinet and prefer that. Iâ...

Weber 10F150T in 25 or 50 watt. Good American sound.
Tone Tubby Alnico Red Hemptone. Very dimensional, loud, and competes with 12" speakers.

'60's Princeton Reverb. Benefits from upgraded speaker. I like a 12" in them, but that amp is magic with a 10. Blues Deluxe. Not as sweet, but more headroom and volume. Underated amp. Slightly heavier and larger than the PR. Many of the reverb stomp boxes sound as good as the current spring rev...

If it sounds better than the Nashville 112 that should interest alot of people.
I have a Loudbox Mini, 60 watts, 21 lbs. I have played steel through it on occasion, sounds acceptable to me. After a while I miss the sweetness of tubes, which I prefer.

Excel makes single coils for their steels.
I think the major pickup companies make steel pickups. You could inquire with Lollar, Duncan, Frailin.
