Current options for long tone bars
I've been trying different tone bars and have decided I'd like a 7/8" x 4" lightweight bar. Something like BJS does, but he seems out of stock of everything and I'd like to get it ASAP. Are there any bars out there that are close to those specs? I have very long fingers so I want a long ba...

Anybody know the E9 copedent used on the Night Life album?
I'm going through "Wild Side of Life" and "Sittin and Thinkin" trying to work out the parts. Was Buddy using just the pedals or were there levers involved too? Was he still playing the Bigsby or was it a Sho Bud by that point?

Emmons Push Pull Pickup and Parts
I'm looking for an original Emmons pickup to restore a 1974 push pull to original. In addition to that I need a pedal for the same guitar, and I'm looking for the 1/8" shaft collars used on those guitars, as well as possibly pedal rod extenders. Looking to buy or if anyone has any leads on that...

A passive pedal will affect your tone as you change the volume. Imagine a volume control on a guitar. As you turn it down, you lose some of your high end. This is caused by interaction between the resistance of the potentiometer that controls the volume and the capacitance in the cable going from th...

I need an Emmons push pull pickup, where to look?
I just purchased a 1974 Emmons D10 and someone swapped out the original E9 pickup. I'm looking to get the guitar back to stock but I'm not sure where I would find an original Emmons pickup for sale. Anyone have any leads?
Thanks

Push Pull mechanics question
I recently just got a push pull and am trying to learn about the setup. I already understand how to tune it. But I was digging around underneath and notice that the raises don't seem to take up the entire range of motion in the changer. I saw a gif of a push pull changer and it seemed like the chang...

Thanks for the advice/offers guys. I needed a 3/32 inch rod, and the smallest I could find at a hardware store was 1/8 inch. Luckily my friend had a junk pile in his basement with a few rusty old 3/32 rods, and we were able to clean one up, bend it, cut it, and stick it in the steel. Everything's ba...

Need Help Repairing Steel
I've got a Carter D-10. I was playing a gig over the weekend when I heard a snap, and my knee lever to raise E to F stopped working. I looked underneath and saw that the metal rod that connected the knee lever to the bell crank(?) had snapped at the connection to the knee lever. The part is relative...

How did you learn licks?
This is my fifth day with the pedal steel, and I feel like things are progressing nicely. I'm pretty comfortable with all the chord positions and moving the bar and operating the pedals and levers and everything, but the bane of my existence right now is blocking. I've made a little progress with pa...

Tuning help
I just got my carter d10 I got here on the forum and I'm loving it so far. However, tuning the pedals is a problem. I don't have the hex tool needed for that. , what is it officially called and can I get it at a hardware store or is it made for the guitar? Thanks

Advice for a New Guy
So I'm new to Pedal Steel and have been doing a lot of research into them lately. I'm in the process of trying to buy one, but I can't really find anywhere to do so in the New England area. I'd like to get a D10 for a reasonable price, and I'd love any suggestions people have. I found a Dekley D10 a...
