Rest in peace Nic. Very sad to read this. I've been dreading this news since I heard through here that he was bedridden. Nic was incredibly helpful and generous a few years back when I was starting out. We then lost contact and I knew his health was going downhill. My sincere condolences to his fami...

not sure if this info is needed anymore but here's a comparison:

Ezzee-slide bar 15/16: 246 grams
BJS 15/16: 280 grams

But, as I understand it, each of Basil's bars are custom made, so he can put more weight into it if required by customer.

John, this is a wonderful tab, I spent some time on it now and it is just what I hoped for, very playable. The song is perfect for steel which you and others already mentioned. Many thanks for your generosity and the great effort writing tabs

Tap tempo is a nice feature. In fact the tap tempo is especially friendly and useful on the Flashback. 1. Depress and hold the footswitch/bypass...the signal is muted and you're in "pick tempo" mode. 2. Mute-pick a string in the tempo you want to set. 3. Release the footswitch/bypass and ...

re the Silica sound 114. It says on the manufacturers page, people love them for 10 strings, and it is definitely OK for that. The only thing is I found them to be a tad short. I only had it for a few weeks and haven't used it that much so may be a matter of just getting used to it, but if you consi...

There's these also: http://www.silicasound.com/brass-n-glass-bar-slides/?category=Tone+Bar Earlier in this thread there was a mention of glass coated brass slides, it must be the Silica sound that was referred to. The Ezzee slide made by Basil H from UK are available right now. There's a little waiting time to get one (they are custom made to your specs) but from what I read about them on the UK steel forum they should be worth the wait. I haven't tried them (yet), but I do have one heading my way as I write....

I purchased my Li'l Izzy from Craig this summer. We exchanged many emails after that, he was very curious to know how I liked the Li'l Izzy, but also our conversation touched on politics, volvo cars (hey, I'm from Sweden) and our daughters (mine 6 months and his 17 y/o). Even though I only spoke to ...

You're welcome :) thank you for sharing your ideas on your website... Re the app I mentioned above, now that I have used it a bit more. I've been practicing to drones for some time now. I purchased the ones Bob Hoffnar did, which are really good. A few good points Georg, I guess the wheather, strings, anything really plays a part so learning to tune by ear is probably better. And I am a believer in that it would make me more able to play in tune :)

With regards to the question of tuning with tuner or by ear...my two cents: I've heard it said (written) many times on here that if you cannot tune by ear how are you going to be able to play in tune. I agree to some extent that if you're not able to hear when something is out of tune it will be har...
