Diy

I too am late to the party on this one... I am not in USA, consequently the pickings here are slim and if available, expensive. The D'berg is undoubtedly a lovely piece of kit, but it isn't going to happen down here... I think the GeorgeBoards idea has merit. As mentioned already, you can buy the pa...

Re: GFI flag

You can buy a knee lever flag from Bob at GFI. The flag is standard on one knee lever of a D-10. Slides on your knee lever and is held by two set screws. gfimusicalproducts.com Wow… thanks… I ended up emailing a copy of my post to GFI, they never mentioned they had flags in their reply… (was ...

GFI should be able to sell you a knee lever flag for your lkl. You tried changing the angle on the lever have you? I find it is more comfortable facing inwards. yep, i think "inwards" accentuates the problem… it's a good position, but it all comes down to the length and the bonyness of ...

GFI replacement levers

Anybody replaced knee levers on a GFI…? I have had a GFI Expo for a few months now, long enough to know that i really, really, really, really, really don't like the way the LKL digs into my leg and I would sell my dog to replace it with a lever that maybe bends away a little at the end… Is this ...

I have a spare Allen Bradley type J 500k pot (new). You can open them, clean them, lube them etc. etc. and they go a long time if you look after them.
Just PM or email me and get in touch. I'm near Dalby Qld.

500k replacment pot

Hi, Looking for a little guidance… I have an Ernie Ball VP JR volume pedal and while understanding that not many people think fondly of these things, I have to play to suit the conditions… I had a mind to replace the 250k pot with a 500k, so managed to buy a 470k dunlop pot, which cost a bomb he...

Re: Dunlop Pot Soldering Posts

The pots I sell were originally made for a particular effects pedal the Dunlop Company once sold. These pots were made to easily press into a surface mounted PC board in that effects pedal. I'm lucky to be able to still obtain these million-cycle pots which, after nearly 6 years of selling over 250...

Re: 6 string tuning

Hold on there Stuart... I'm just starting my six-string project PSG build. I've done a pile of reading into various tuning options, the more I read, the more confused I get. Check out the Hudson 6-string PSG and see what Jimmie recommends, also the Fessenden 6-shooter set-up if that hasn't been men...

For communicating with this audience, you should probably call your 1st pedal (G# to A) the "B pedal", and your second pedal (B to C#) your "A pedal". I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but those are their established names in the "standard" E9th copedent. Yep… I no...

Returning to useful chords and this time considering those available from what might be termed an open position… Referring to the diagram below and once again, this is for the pedal/lever setup above (six string in E), with no lever or pedals, just the bar at the 5th fret, we have an A chord. Slid...

Stuart, sorry about the confusion. The 6 stringer is a sort of work in progess and on hold for the time being, but essentially I'm setting it up so that I can use it for rock and blues stuff as well as country, but in the range of a standard guitar. Thanks for that Jerry..! I'll have a go at writin...

I've found b0b has great ideas on getting the most out of tunings. I have a Cougar 6 with 4 pedals and 4KL's that I'm playing around with. I kind of stole Bill Hatcher's EADGBE idea and have one pedal that pulls 3 strings into an open G. One of the pedals takes that to the 4 chord same as your AB E...

which gets to my answer to the OP, maybe you could look at it as a lap steel, and utilize the moves for more chords on that axe - open strings, slants, behind eh bar pulls - and add the pedals to that basic format. Thanks Jamie… I suppose I could look at it as a lap steel with benefits… I start...

It's pretty powerful. I look at what the dobro guys can do with G major, and then what blues guys do with the top 4 strings of E major. This tuning has D major in the same intervals as E major for blues licks, and also the power of that low E when you need it. The B minor (with P1) is also very use...
