Hi Peter, When a string is lowered (In this case 6th string G# to F#), the lowering finger is pushed back to the lowering adjustment screw. There is slack in the raise rod adjustment that allows the raise finger to fall back with the lowering finger. If you add another raise, using the pull rod (B p...

I lower string 6 with pedal 1 (G# to F#) and pull it back to G with RKL. Use the pull rod from the B pedal, a collar, and bellcrank tuner. My RKL also lowers the 2nd and 9th. It doesn't effect the 6th string if pedal 1 is not pressed. ------------------ Bob Carden 66 Emmons P/P 8/9 BMI 13 string 7/7

Thanks Carl! I'll try to answer your questions. 1. The LKL and LKR are spaces normal except for allowing room for the LKR to move left when lowering the 5th string to Bb. That's normal for a P/P. The LKR is set back far enough to allow the LKV3 to be in front of it. It's also out of the way when mov...

I raise both the 5th and the 10th to C with LKV3. Since I lower the 4th and 8th to D# with LKL, I cannot use both, so I use the 2nd string D# for the dim. There are a lot of uses for the C on the 5th. I use it with the B pedal for a D9 and Am6. I use it most for E9aug5. The B pedal,LKV2, and LKV3 gi...

5th string Bb/C# split to C + A lower Question
I Installed a bar with set screws behind the tuner for tuning splits on my BMI. I tune the C with the tuner adjustment and the Bb with the set screw and all is fine. The C#,C,B, and Bb tune and play in tune good. Here is my problem: I have a pedal that lowers the B to A (pedal 1)that now stops at Bb...

One of you with an all pull guitar that has a tuneable split, do this test. Does your tone get better (or change) when the pull finger is in contact with the split tuning screw? My guess is, there is no difference! I do not let the pull fingers hit the body on the A and B pedals and I don't hear any...

I have the 2nd and 9th string lowers on RKL I use the hit on the 9th string to tune the half stop (D) on the 2nd. Since I don't raise the 9th, I use the raise tuning screw to tune the half stop. This makes it possible to raise the 2nd to E, and have the regular D# to D/C# lower. You don't need any a...

4 th string lower to D! (E 9th)
Does any one do this? I'd like to thy this change but my BMI will just barely make D#. I use the D6 tuning that you get with the B pedal a lot and having a D on the 4th would be nice. I know it's there on the 2nd string, but thats a little far to reach. ------------------ Bob Carden 66 Emmons P/P 8/...

The A to Ab (LKV2)is a must for me. I use it a lot with pedal 7 (C to D and A to B) to get a 9th (split to Bb). Works good with the 6th string E to F (RKL) raise for a minor. It can also be split with pedal 4 to get a 7th. I don't have the A to Bb or C to C# levers. I get the Bb and C# using splits....

I have it on RKR (no C pedal). I use it with the A and B pedals to get the B and C pedal effect. I don't think I could do all three on the left leg. I split it with my LKL (E's to D#) to get an F on the 4th string and an D# on the 8th. add the A and B pedals to get a 9th-5. ------------------ Bob Ca...

A lot of us steel players use two amps and play very loud. Does this make use sound more in tune? Or, maby we do this so that we don't here the instruments that tune differant than we do. The differance between G# and Ab is something I learned to live with back in the mid seventies. The thing that r...

<t>I have this change on my P/P but I don't use the B pedal. I lower the 6th G# to F# with pedal 1 and pull it back to G with my RKL. RKL also lowers strings 2 and 9. Since this ain't no "all pull guitar", it does nothing to string 6 unless pedal 1 has been pressed.<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> ----------...

Carl has it right, except for one thing. It can be done with one lever. Use the collar on the push rod to get the Bb and the end of the push rod to get the C (split with the A pedal). You can tune the C by moving the collar on the push rod. It may take a few tries to get the C in tune. Once in tune,...

I beleive that when you play The E-9th tuning you are also playing the B-6th. Most players have a knee lever that lowers the E's to D# and another that lowers the D to C#. With that said, the only thing left is a couple bass strings. I have 7 lnee levers on the E-9th and 4 on the C-6th. There is no ...

I believe the reason for an adjustable bridge on a guitar, bango, or any instrument with frets, is to compensate for pushing the string down to the fret. Steels do not have frets and I don't think that an adjustable Bridge is necessary; however, I do think that if each string had it's own support, w...
