Hi, John. I hope you're doing. Here are some pictures of my Williams Series 700. Nice guitar - but I haven't changed much, so I can't tell you how easy your staggered levers would be. Let me know if you need other pictures. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/14128_Williams_700__E9_Neck_Unde...

David Gilmour on Lap Steel - Barn Jam 166

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-REmdjPl18 The session was recorded and filmed in a barn at David's home in Sussex, England, in January 2007. There are roughly 200 jams that exist. Three tracks were released as part of the Live in Gdańsk 4-disc edition, deluxe edition and vinyl edition; one was re...

Dave - thanks for posting the link. I break out a steel guitar occasionally with my surf band but we lean more towards the Blue Hawaiians when that happens. It would be fun to play it on higher energy stuff like the Mankooras do. Always fun to see who pops up at the Surfer Joe Festival. I'd like to ...

+1 for putting a pedalboard on a keyboard chair but I've been thinking about using a percussion table stand like this Gibraltar Sidekick or the Meinl table. Would also need a gig bag to store it in with effects.

I've owned a Williams D10 for several years and they're great guitars. Good tone with a 705 pickup and smooth action on the pedals and levers. Last week I called and asked about changing my copedent. They were happy to talk about it and I ordered a new rod which arrived quickly.

Chris Scruggs Interview

Great interview and Chris Scruggs playing guitar and steel. He plays non-pedal steel starting at 1:24:30 with some really great examples of different techniques around 1:29:00.

Thanks for posting. My favorite part is at the 1 hour mark when Dan Dugmore talks about asking Sneaky Pete "Tell me how it's tuned and what the pedals do" and Sneaky Pete replies "Well, when you step on the first two pedals it goes up a 90 degree angle and then if you put the bar at t...

Harold - if I ran into this I'd look at what the next chord is to get some context - but, I'd probably play D-F-A-C#. A minor chord with a raised 7th as opposed to the standard Dm7 - D-F-A-C. I think that's what they're trying to indicate with the +7.

I've watched most of Jim's videos and find them thought (and chuckle) provoking. He also plays pedal steel. What I'd like to see is a video showing the same pedal steel guitar plugged into an amp and no changes are made to the setup. Then have 5 different players sit at the instrument and see how di...

When the author used the word "lachrymal" it's possible they were using a thesaurus to find a fancier way to say "crying steel" or maybe they were talking about the many tears shed in frustration trying to learn how to play this thing.
