Thanks jim. I'm actually trying that but it just doesn't sound right to me when I listen to the song itself.

I'll keep tinkering...I'm probably the only one that doesn't like the sound.

John...Rickey...Sombody..HELP

We're playing "Lost in the Feeling" and things go along great until I get to that slide, (at the end of the outro), from C to E. To my ear it really sucks and ruins my big chance to show off on some beautiful Hughey licks, (You sure make the most of that C pedal John). If someone could giv...

Hold me in Your arms - Brad Paisley

I can't figure out how the first part of the intro is done, (leading up to the D7 chord)

It has a 7th sound to it but I'm beating my head against the wall trying to find it and we're playing it next Saturday.

Someone help me please!!

I had a feeling this would generate some comments.

We're going to try to get down and see you next spring or summer. I wonder if I should bring my wife.

Thanks Bobbe. You really are bailing(heh...heh), me out this time.

Come to think of it, this could be Buddy but the sound is not quite as big as I usually hear from him. That could be the production I guess.

I hope I can come close to nailing it since we'll be playing it after the first of the year.

Hey Skipper. How you been. We do that song every once in a while. I take a long ride on it but I've never done any tabbing so no help there. Maybe me bumping this back up will help. If it's any help the chord progression for us is C...Dm...G...C...D...G...C C7..F...G..C C..Dm......G etc., etc. Hope ...

Bobbe Seymore is generous

I ordered some strings from Bobbe last week and I think he said he would throw in a free PP Emmons, (or something), with my order. What a guy. Thanks Bobbe.

What do I get if I order a new volume pedal?

Oh yeah...and my wife said he sounded real "sweet" on the phone. HMMMMM

Gene Watsons newest, (I think)

Heard Gene's song about..."Hang Around this Honky Tonk in Houston..." and the steel ride in this song is wonderful. I'm still trying to figure it out before we have to play the song out. It sounds alot like Milo Deering's style but I don't think Milo plays with Gene. Is that you Paul? It's...

That's one I hadn't heard. Just one more example of why most folks consider Buddy the "world's foremost" steel player. Just amazing.

Glen, I figure for this weekend, I'd be ok without that 10 wire. Most of the stuff we're doing can be accomplished pretty well without having to stretch the 10. I'm not going to try to mess with it tonight. By the time I get home from my day job I'll be packing and running. I'll find some wire tomor...

Glenn, I actually considered that until I remembered about the only time i pick the 10 is when I'm using the BE 10, 5, 3 grab.

Pitiful ain't it. It's amazing what you can get by with and still fool folks into thinking you're a musician.

Carter Starter amazing

I play an Emmons for our gigs but I needed a second guitar to leave at church, so I bought a Carter Starter from Herbie. I'm 6'4" so I had to go way past the 1" extension kit. But here's the amazing part. It's obviously not an Emmons but every time I sit down to tune it ... nothing has cha...

I remember posting several years ago and fussing about not hearing Buddy enough on some album I bought just because he was on it. I can't remember who posted next but he said in essence, You didn't buy a Buddy Emmons album, you bought a so and so album. The guy was the producer of the very album I w...

Need replacement parts 1980 PP Emmons

I broke the little wire that connects the pull-rod to the string bender thing, (can't remember what it's called). It was on the high B (naturally) so I stole the one off the low B for this week's gig but I probably should replace them all since they're probably going to take turns going bad on me. W...

My cousin has been playing with bands for almost 50 years and he still uses slants on some of the older stuff, (Ray Price, Buck Owens, etc.), and I love the sound. I wish I had learned more of that stuff. Our band plays mostly newer stuff but ever so often we do a medly of songs and my rides seem ki...

I've got a pack seat with a back on it. I added big ugly rubber feet so it would set me up a little higher.

I really only use the back during little breaks I take. I'm pretty happy with the seat.
