Every generation thinks their music is "the real deal." If it all sounded the same, their would be no Buddy Holly, Elvis, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc. Nobody is forcing anyone to listen to anything....yet!

Every student is 100% different. I know, a few of my 6 string guitar and bass students have had piano lessons as a child and the 1st thing they say is, "I HATED them, because I had to play scales for hours on end." And as a result, they hate piano. We all know, for most people anyway, in o...

Richard, give me your impressions on the 1964 Ears Quads. I've been looking at getting another set of customs especially since Fidelity Ears is pretty much belly up. I keep getting drawn to 1964 Ears over all the others out there.and would love to know how they sound for steel and or guitar. Thanks...

In a bar, and drinks are on the house, I give the bartender or waitress $10 at the end of the night. When I'm at another type venue, I play it by ear. But, they always get at least $10.

Well, since I started this thread, I guess I can reply, too. I guess I'm a little confused when I hear, "A good sound tech is a must." That is true, regardless if you're using IEM's or wedge monitors. The sound tech, not only sets/controls the levels out front (which as a musician on stage...

Steelers and in ear monitors

Just wondering...how many steel players out there use in-ear-monitors? And do you use both left and right or pull one out? I started using IEM's about 12 years ago, while playing lead guitar for a classic rock cover band. The rhythm player thought he really needed his Super Champ on 11. So, I bought...

Although I must admit...I misread the 1st name, thinking it read Michael...not Michelle. Thinking I was going to see my old psg player. Big surprise!!! :whoa: Definitely NOT Michael Webb.

Those particle board cabinets in the large Peavey bass amps are back (and, for me, deal) breakers. Dan I know the "back breaking" feeling, all too well. I have a Peavey 215 I bought new in 86(?). Awesome sounding passive cab...but weighs way too much for a "post back surgery" ba...

Peavey TKO 115s for psg

What are your thoughts on using a Peavey TKO 115s for psg? I have one, I use for a practice amp on Bass. While I keep it at my churches rehearsal room, I have wondered how a steel would sound thru it.

Any thoughts...comments...concerns...suggestions?

I have worked 35 years to find "my" bass tone...and pretty darn proud of it, too. Nothng makes my smile more, than when I peek at the FOH board and see my channel eq flat. Being new to psg, I'm still searching for my psg tone. I hope it don't take another 35 years to find it!!!
