Thanks for the replies guys. Phone apps are out for me for 2 reasons. 1) I have no smartphone 2) My vision is limited so large readable screens, dials etc are a must.

As a beginner, I am looking for a good, reasonably priced tuner to start with. I am playing electric Rondo SX. Elderly made recommendation shown here: http://www.elderly.com/accessories/items/KHT-G2.htm but it shows for accoustic guitar vs electric and not specific to a lap steel. Comments please......

Does anyone use a Headset type amp for practicin lap stel? My cousin used to use one on his Bass guitar andI wonder if same is used on practiing a lap steel. I know VOX has many models.

Thanks for your input. I did notice on the link that maker Gary Swallow will customize, so maybe having a heavier bar made on one for a electric lap steel is an idea...MD

OK, so I have found a Supro that looks to be a good purchase.

What about Accoustic vs Accous/Elec. and Electric for starting. Most of my froends play accoustic gitars
