Sincere condolences to your family. Many, many thanks to b0b for furthering my pedal steel knowledge. It was indeed a gift to all of us here.

Dale, that's a Mullen pre-RP U12 through the studio's silverface Twin Reverb.

Thanks for listening, folks.

A surprising 2019 session

I finally got to hear a finished album that I played on in 2019, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm usually not happy when I hear the results, but this time I liked what I heard. My playing during the main song is pretty ordinary, but my solo surprised me. It comes in around 2:35, just after the ma...

The copedent pages were the best for me, at least the most recent in my limited memory. I referenced these constantly when I was looking for C6 ideas for my U12 copedent.

Strange, but for whatever reason, the soundclip widgets are not showing up on my phone, computer, or laptop. It's just a black space to the right of each title. Anybody have any suggestions?

I get the link to the page, but there don't seem to be any recordings there, only the titles. Did they disappear?

Steve, thank you so much for putting that book together. I just finished it and didn't want it to end. Your database at the end and copedent evolution is something I was ready to ask for on the Forum. I'll probably re-read it from the beginning. While reading this, I was reminded of something that h...

My pal Chelsea Burns wrote that piece for her school dissertation at UT. Thats the reason it is so technical and elaborate. Her point being that it was a milestone in country music, that a limitation created a new piece of vocabulary in pedal steel. We talked a lot about that solo when she came into...

Both E's on the left. It's not a challenge for me to get around with the left foot while holding the Eb. I do use my right foot for pedals 6&7, since the volume pedal isn't used much for chordal playing; if it's good enough for Buddy, it's good enough for me. you can see by the unsuccessful eras...

Peavey made a good sounding tube preamp called TG Raxx a while back. I had one that I used for pedal steel. They were versatile with some good EQing.

I built an Allen Accomplice from a kit several years back. David Allen's instructions are excellent, and he is available for tech support if needed. It certainly helps to have some technical and assembly experience. It's a great guitar amp with 6V6s, based on a Deluxe Reverb. It can be swapped out a...

I remember hearing the “slide” guitar part on that song when I was 12 or 13 yo, went upstairs, slapped on my ring finger slide, tuned my guitar to E7, and voila! Played along with a Beatles record. The genius of course, is not being able to play it, but the thinking of the part and placing it p...

Yeah, I can't wait! It seems that this is going to be much happier than the original Let It Be film.
That's a Hofner lap steel that John is playing. He reportedly is using a plastic disposable cigarette lighter for a bar, which would explain its lack of sustain.
