I had to smile at John Ciano’s post. Almost 20 years ago I opened for Poco in Bethlehem PA. A young sound guy from the locally provided crew was helping run wires during setup and he looked at Rusty’s old steel. He turned to me and asked what the heck it was. I never got to meet Rusty that night...

Dave Bunker

Dave had a production facility and shop for some time here in Pennsylvania. It must have been around 25 years ago. It was in the Quakertown area north of Philly. I went there to see his headless bass line, which had the brand name of PBC. Quite an innovator, and really friendly. He spent a lot of ti...

Sale Pending

I am so happy to update that this CF Martin Raffi artist model has a pending sale to Troubadour Music. This is Raffi’s own production company, and I am glad this connection was made through the Steel Guitar Forum.

Headstock

Hey Scott, the headstock does not have binding. I guess you are right that I didn’t really include a photo showing full view. Maybe I can add that to the pics. -Mark

Hi Dale, Thanks for your note. I am going to hope for an interested person in the NYC / Philly area so that I can avoid the risk of shipping. If that doesn’t happen, I will likely repost after a while and and ship. For now I will see if I can hand this to somebody in person. Regards, Mark

Martin Guitar - Rare Artist Model, Sale Pending

I am a CF Martin retiree, and I have a circa 2003 Artist Model serialized Prototype that did not go into production. It is a Raffi Cavoukian collaboration. Only four were made. One went to Raffi, one sold at Christie's Auction in Manhattan in 2008 to celebrate CF Martin's 175th anniversary, one is r...

Having been in the business a while, what I can say is that there a really just a handful of musical instrument wire suppliers, folks that actually draw the wire. You'd probably be surprised that regardless of the brand you play, many of you are playing the same wire from the same maker. We've found...

Jerry, I would agree with you that as an individual, it will be wiser to avoid an international shipment of rosewood. It's tough enough for us here at Martin Guitar to comply to all the regulations. If one thing is out of line, the shipment can be held indefinitely, or there could be fines etc. I wi...

Looking for SD-10 found something. Post may be closed

I am interested in acquiring a lower mileage SD-10. I do have some potential trade items ( a couple Martin Guitars, rackmount power amps, Fender Bass, Strat). I live in PA. Thanks.
