I agree with Larry. My first pro level guitar was a 75 Pro 1. Whatever tonal advantages it may have had over the many guitars I have owned since were offset by tuning stability, pedal action, etc.

I have used a Taylor acoustic through. a mic’ed Nashville 400, mainly as a monitor…it sounded better than I thought it would sound….I probably tweaked the tone knobs from my steel settings, though….

The A+F combination with the resulting sixth string drop bothered me more than the B+C drop. A compensator added to the F raise made for a much sweeter sounding chord. Just for the heck of it, I backed off the compensated tuner and tried the Bill C. Buntin method to put some tension on the changer a...

Reposting my Derby…SD 10 3X5 with Derby volume pedal…nice guitar, I played a theater show over the weekend and the Truetone pickup was too noisy…replaced with the original E66..also installed fifteen new nylon tuners…new clutches in rear legs. Emmons pedals with E lowers on RKL….raise 1 and lower 6 ...

I had been tuning to Peterson’s SE9….playing along with U-tube videos, I found OE9 to be more in tune with most of them….also found older recordings to be all over the place, tuning wise.

I think my Derby had two bell cranks for that change. I put both changes on a single bell crank and it worked, F#-G# and D#-E…The long pull to G# and the additional resistance with the second string pull made me think twice about the second pull and I ended up eliminating it. Perhaps the first strin...

The LKR lever has to be removed to get to the screws on the center rail. I put a drop of penetrating oil on the spring loaded pins and was able to push them in with needle-nose pliers, pulling up on the cross shaft to hold the pin in place while I got another bite with the pliers. The whole job look...

I think Larry has the right idea….put a bend in the pull rod …that would have eliminated my clearance problem.

Tommy, The half stop mechanism can be left attached when you lift the center rail. I changed the E lowers on my Derby, also moved the floor pedals right one space. I did not encounter the rounded cross rod…swap it for another one, possible. I did have a clearance issue when positioning the 1st strin...

Nice Derby SD 10 3&5 with Derby volume pedal. Shown with Truetone pickup, will probably change for E66, original pickup, and a good choice for this guitar…Emmons pedals, lower E on right, will change to left if requested…new clutches on rear legs…Dunlop pot in volume pedal…nice guitar, sounds gr...

I wore out the record with Bad Weather…still love the steel on that one. I am also big Jim Messina fan. Although my introduction to Poco was Good Feelin To Know, to me the quintessential Poco album is Deliverin, and Messina’s influence.
