wow, that's really great! The steel guitar sound, with the sustain and slides, really adds to this tune. Or maybe this tune accommodates the steel. Anyway, I like it.

I love it! I really like the chords at the beginning. I guess that's why you use a flat pick? Great sound!

They both sound like you, which is awesome! The Rick seems more open to me, has more sound, and the Gibson a little closed, like it's behind something maybe. But they each have a personality and sound great.

Wild guesses, but the second one sounds like your red guyatone. The fifth one seems to have the richest vibrato, maybe a heavier bar. If that's the pedal steel then I want one. 1 - 1940s-50s Gibson Century 6 2 - 1960s Guyatone S-8 3 - National Waikiki with Valco string-through pickup 4 - 1960s Guyat...

Doug, I'm glad you brought up the chord structure because I was wondering about that. I think you're playing the song in F and you chose the A6 tuning. I know you can play any key with any tuning but it's nice to hear your approach. You have rich-sounding chords. I really like it.

If you made a movie of this I would go see it! Very cool couple of days, and classy, I think, not to take pictures at dinner!

non pedal teaching clinic

I am new to non pedal steel guitar and at the Texas Jamboree last month I visited the Georgeboards booth. Mr. Boards very graciously spent 40 minutes to an hour showing me how to hold the tone bar and block and other various tips. It was a big help and a real inspiration! I really wanted that Stealt...
