Steel Player Touring with Ray Price & Cherokee Cowboys

Does anyone know who is currently touring as Ray Price's steel player with the Cherokee Cowboys? We are going to the show tonight in Wickenburg, AZ. I got second row tickets so I could watch the steel player, but I don't know who he is.

Steel Guitar In Panama City, Fla.

Greetings fellow forumites. I spent the week working in Panama City, Florida, and will be going home to Arizona tomorrow. Are there any clubs featuriing pedal steel in Panama City? It would be nice to catch a Veteran's Day show this evening.

Sincerely,

W.C.

Playing in Bisbee, AZ Sept 14

Our band Rodeo Queen will be playing in Bisbee next Saturday, Sept.14, with Topless Opry at the Earwig Factory in Brewery Gulch. I expect it will be a fun gig in a scenic spot with plenty of steel guitar.

Is Central AZ College between Casa Grande and Phoenix? What exit do you take off I-10? There is always something to be learned from a gathering of steelers. I'd like to go.

Valentine's Gig, Tucson

I will be playing pedal steel at a club called "Plush" in Tucson the evening of February 14. My band will be playing the opening set, all original music. Anyone in the Tucson area wishing to hear some steel on Valentines, come on down. The club is located on 4th Avenue.

Dennis: I recently got a Behringer "Powerplay Pro" 4-channel headphone amp. My band (5-piece) used it to record live to 8 tracks in ProTools. It seemed to do the job, with a lot of added features for the cost (very reasonable). There were some adjustments that had to be made to get folks s...

ProTools and Pedal Steel

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I built myself a digital audio workstation with a new Power Mac G4, digi 001 interface, and ProTools. So far, I have tried recording out of my Emmons LeGrande II to a Goodrich 7A to a Goodrich Volume pedal and then to a Countryman Type-85 direct box. This arrangement h...

Dennis sold me an Emmons Lashley LeGrande II. It's a beautiful guitar and was well worth the wait (4 mos). Dennis responded quickly when I needed some E-ring clips for the guitar. I enjoy visiting his store for pedal steel accessories.

Thanks to everyone for your replys. Sounds like Peavey has the majority vote for road durability. I should have explained a bit more about the amps I am currently using. The LabSeries L9 is a solid state 100W amp designed by Robert Moog and marketed by Gibson in the 80's. It doesnt make a good steel...

Amps: Which one comes in industrial strength?

After four years of diligent practice, I am finally established with a band and working towards my first club date, upcoming in September. My sound is prefaced on some vintage L9 amplifiers, which I have refurbished with fresh electronics and JBL 15" speakers. The L9's provide clean, clear soun...

She Thinks I Still Care, as done by Weldon Myrick

Has anyone tabbed this song as performed on Leon Russell's album by Weldon Myrick? The intro seems to be at the 20th fret in the key of C. How it gets from C to A# is fuzzy to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Wayne: I would be interested. I attended two of the meetings you had for begginers a couple of years back. I left the Phoenix area to return home South of Tucson when a job opened up for me. I kept the Dekley I had, but I mostly play an Emmons D-10 that I got from Dennis in Casa Grande. It would hav...
