Amp moving
Home Depot has yellow fold up hand truck, I use it all the time for my NV400. The wheels fold in and the handle slides into the base, the whole thing is about 3ft x 2inches when folded, carries 150 lbs.

Staying in Tune
Add some vibrato to each chord or note, this allows the human ear to balance out the sound and select the tuning it wants. A straight note (no vibrato)will sound a little sharp or flat to different ears. It also has the benefit of making it sound better.

Steel guitar tuning head. I need one
I would like to know where I can find the tuning head for a steel guitar (pedal or lap), or is this something that I have to make my self out of bar stock . I want aluminum (6063 or 6061)
I have found several good designs but cannot find one already made anywhere.

Stage One
The Stage one is an excellent instrument. It will help you understand the pedal steel well, then when you need a more expensive guitar you will know what you want. I have had mine since July and play it every day for about 2 hours. That nice fat sound you want is a lot in the amplifier and how you a...

Picking methods (all posts)
Thanks all of you for the advice, It looks like it is going to be a long haul with the right hand. My fingers just don't come together right. One on One instruction would be the best. Maybe some of the on line instructors would consider setting up a SKYPE session. I have even tried flat picking with...

The learning curve
I tried all sorts of DVDs and instructional methods, none of them had much continuity with respect to what you should concentrate on. I finally bought Jeff Newmans beginning course, it is well thought out and teaches techniques that are needed to begin playing. The theory and chord base is the harde...
