Can anyone identify the steel guitar player accompanying Patsy Cline in this image.

My first steel guitar was a single neck cable Fender Stringmaster? Bought it from a church minister back in '72
Always wondered if the larger string spacing that was on that guitar would give a fuller tone quality with the appropriate pickup today.

Had the opportunity to check this guitar out at the Emmons factory when it was made in'75.

While on a visit to the Emmons Guitar Factory in'75 I was told by Ron Lashley that the guitar pictured was a special order made for Buddy Cage?

Hi Ricky, No but your close. I remember now I think the soundtrack was from a video Documentary called "The Life And Times Of Ray Price". Has anyone seen it.

I can hear the late Sneaky Pete in Buddy's rendition of that tune. They were both aware of the potential of what chord progressions could express with the use of sound effects.

Pete really did take steel guitar to the outer limits.

This tune as well as others I have pasted on the forum are all played on standard E9th with the exception of not lowering the E4th String. In addition to this I lower the D9th string to C# with the RL knee Lever and B10th string to A with the 3rd Pedal.

Another popular tune composed by Burt Bacharach played on steel guitar.

Great old standard Bob, nice clean sound,that's the way to play. There should always be a place for that kind of music in Clubs today.
