A friend has a Rumble 100 for bass guitar. He's somewhat busted up from motorcycle wrecks in his youth and wanted something easy to drag around. This morning I bought a clean used Rumble 200 in my neighborhood pawn shop for $180 out the door . Clean used ones have been fetching $350 - $380 on Ebay. ...

Addendum: There was a second dealer in NYC that purported to to handle Polytone - True Tone Music. True Tone contacted me and said they had received a single MiniBrute II but would not have taken my order for something not in stock. For the record, I believe The Music Zoo is a good and reputable dea...

My Polytone experience: I had a MiniBrute II that I bought from Clint Strong for guitar work. It got stolen out of my house and the insurance company insisted in buying me a new Polytone. About the only dealer I could find was The Music Zoo in NYC. They took my order, then never could get me the amp...

Michael,

The last question you raised depends in part on the purchase price. Now I know what to look for when I inspect it. It is described as "mid-70s".

Thanks!

Sho-Bud Maverick: Knee Levers

I notice most Sho-Bud Mavericks came with 3 pedals and 1 knee lever, but if one came with no knee levers, was it designed for easy addition of at least one knee lever?

Well that confused me more, as these have different specs but a "dimished" (aka "dimished seventh") chord in any language should be the same: Diminué (°)----*-1 ------------ 8 6 5 ------------- F Dim7 ---------*+2 ------------ 9 8 6 5 ------------ F In the purest classical sense ...

Thanks for the new comments. One problem for me is that this guitar is actually 60 miles from my home, and I would have to both find a local technician (if there is one), then drive him over there. So this is probably going to languish unless he drops the price a lot to allow for some undiscovered m...

Thanks fellas. Any other opinions on this one, or recommendations for a first steel?

(I'm in no hurry to jump on this one. The world's chock full of guitars. I should know, I've got my share of 'em, just no pedal steel yet.)

Emmons LeGrande II SD-10 4/3 locally

Chaps, There is an Emmons LeGrande II SD-10 pedal steel guitar available in my area. Seller says it "looks to be manufactured in the mid 1980's. The E9th neck is set up for the Emmons copedent. The guitar has 4 knee levers and 3 foot pedals." Nothing about the condition. I'm a guitarist an...
