Why 2 Pickups?

I've been playing my Fender Dual 6 for quite a while, but (REALLY!) just today I was wondering, why does it have two pickups per neck. I mean, you can't switch between them like you can on a Telecaster ...

Okay, so by now, I have tuned the outer neck to Leon's E13 (tuned down one step to D13). Sounds very interesting :D
But I have no clue, where to start from. Any advice on songs or maybe tabs? Where are the basic chords?
Many thanks in advance ...

Maui Chimes on old Nationals

Had some spare time last weekend, so I decided to make a short video clip of this nice Hawaiian tune:
-> MAUI CHIMES <-
Played on a 1928 National Tricone, a 1932 National Style 0 and a 2013 National Style 2 ukulele ...

I lost my Charlie's Slide Pro Capo :(
If anyone is willing to part with his/hers, I'll be more than happy to buy it (preferably in Europe because of the shipping costs)!

I'm very proud to announce the latest release of our group "Front Porch Picking"!
It's called "Hula Boogie" and contains a lot of lapsteel guitar (1948 Rickenbacher B6 & 1935 National Electro).
