Nashville 112 Speakers

The stock speakers are very good speakers , you can go broke trying all kinds of different ones. Take time to set down and really make several tone adjustments with the controls first before switching hardware out ,could save a lot of $$$ and time.... JMHO

Volume Pedal Pots

I have recently went through 5 pots with 3 that were identical and none of them worked like they should. The 3 that were alike all had different effects on the tone and output levels ... not to mention having to remove a gear piece off the shaft and it having a flat spot to try and work with to set ...

Renfro Valley

I remember playing there some during the late 80s and 90s ... was always good music , sadly now it is all gone. If they don't realize it by now , their income was from a large group of folks that drove a long way to stay there and hear the traditional music and had the money to spend!! Looks like th...

session 115

I agree, good point John. I think your figures are correct. The real problem I see is that the majority of the VFWs, bars, and honky tonks pay the same, or less, in 2016 than they did in 1983. It's more to the less side...last place I played they thought $50 a night was to much and wanted to go to ...

session 115

Just a thought about the MSRP of this amp.In 1983 I bought new Peavey Nashville 400 @ 30% off for $385. Using an inflation calculator, that amp cost me $916 in today's money with a MSRP is $1310. That made me think way back to just about that same time frame and my Session500 new was around $1000 a...

To be honest there is no way I would put that much money in one amp .... not even a tube amp.

I am thinking my old Nv400 and Session 500 are going to be used for awhile longer until they kick the bucket... :)

Update on Session 115

I still think that bringing one out in public this way was a bad idea, they should have mad a few and took some time to pass them around and get feedback from folks out playing all the time to see what changes may need made. I myself will not carry all of that to get a stereo sound that has no effec...

New Session 115

I'm not a fan of amps with onboard effects built in them , to many things to go wrong and can be a one unit costly mistake! I am like Rick Campbell , my Nv400 and Session 500 with the Profex unit Rick gave me is all I want. I took the Profex apart to give it a little TLC clean pots etc.. found it wa...

Modeling amps

I have tried a few different modeling amps and honestly just my opinion , for a traditional steel sound I have never seen one that works.. I have a Peavey Nv 400 and a old Session 500 that I don't see any ever beating those amps..

I have a Holy Grail unit I use some and a Fender FRV 63 ... The FRV 63 has the true sound of the first reverb units that were made and used tubes. If you previously had experience playing another guitar..etc.. yes that would help , however if your going into this with steel being your first instrument I don't recommend taking all that on at the same time or even before the steel if it is what your goal is.
