Thanks Tommy. Billy Cooper's in VA is selling it. Maybe yours came from his store. He reports it eats 9V batteries and could do with a power supply (which he can supply). Ed, I didn't quite get whether you were happy with yours. Looked for a Peavey reference, but couldn't find one; Budda Amplificati...

Warms my heart to see that b0b got this award. I was at the '99 ISCG when he got an award then and was glad to stand up and clap. Not just the forum, but also his presence in making comments in the threads has been a gift.

Speculation until settled - maybe tiny screws recessed in the hoods just above where the springs connect to the raise fingers?

Peter,
That's interesting. It may explain the disconnect I'm experiencing with a dealer saying it does have raise helper springs, but not being able to find anything on the website that addresses adjustments, or seeing anything in the photos that shows an way to adjust them.
Thanks,

Thanks Mickey, that's helpful. My situation is that I'm no longer a spring chicken, having arthritic joints, etc. and need a nice smooth easy action. It may be that the RP has good enough action so that I wouldn't need to fight it.
Thanks again, bk

Mullen Royal Precision with adjustable raise helper springs?

Looking for anyone who knows for sure whether the Mullen Royal Precision steels have adjustable raise springs. I've looked on the website - no sign that they do. I've called Mullen but they're at the St. Louis convention. Shot an email to them, but in the meantime I've got an opportunity to do a dea...

FWIW I've been using some glue sticks for a couple of years. It's simple, inexpensive and effective. The way it's used is rub the glue stick on the parts of the thumb and fingers that contact the picks when you put them on. After taking them off, rub the fingers and thumb together, the remnants of t...

Interesting, I guess I let myself be misled by the website. It had all the directions and forms for an order.
I think I' m going to settle in on the guitar I was going to replace. Thanks for the heads up though David.

I got my sign in the mail today - Bruce returned my check and setup info with a kind letter. I was disappointed, there was no problem with the order itself, He explained that it was for a personal reason. I'll leave it up to others that have closer relationships with him to elaborate. I don't know i...

Always appreciate your input, thanks.
My order's in, if he cashes my check I'll take that as a sign.
Then - I'll just wait and see what happens and when. Couldn't be all bad to get a 2015 Christmas present like that. :)

Order to Guitar Turnaround for a Zum?

What's the current experience of people ordering a Zum? How long did it take to get yours, order in to guitar ready?
I've got an order in but don't know what to expect.
Thanks, bk

I put an order in 2 or 3 weeks ago - what's the wait time these days? 12 months? 18? 24 months?.
I'd appreciate any feedback.

Sad that SGN's gone; sad the Bobbe's gone; didn't realize how much I relied on them. Consignments for one, trade-ins, accessories. Now that they seem to be out of play, maybe temporarily, maybe not, who else does consignments? Scotty's? Frenchy's? I've got one, maybe 2 PSG's that need to be in someo...

What's Up With SGN? Did They Move?

Not sure what topic to put this under, but I just shipped a guitar to SGN for consignment; UPS has tried to deliver twice and reported last night that they've moved and they're getting in touch with SGN to find out where to deliver. Their website still has the address I shipped to, no sign of anythi...

Tony, very glad to hear it. That's what I was hoping for.
My first go-round , I had trouble getting used to the 12 string too, but gradually ended up really liking the universal tuning and it's amazing potential . . so I'm headed back to it.
Thanks, bk

Lynn, that's helpful; the lock is ingenious. And I'm thoroughly impressed with the undercarriage of the Zum; I'm doing some manuevering to buy one. And I'm concluding that the lock, as effective as it looks, is not in the "on the fly" category. Still it seems very useful and practical in m...

ZumSteel U12 - How's the D lever lock work?

Given a Zum U12, Newman setup, A pedal is pedal 1, e's lowered to D# and 2nd string to C# lowered on the RR, :- 1)Where is the lock/unlock control on the guitar? 2)Can the lock/unlock be easily done on the fly, say within 3-5 seconds? 3)Which hand would control it, bar hand or picking hand?
