We all have our favorites, and some are better known and more recognized by US, but to the non musician world at large (and parts of the musical world), even Buddy Emmons is a "lesser known great". Perspective. Wish it were different. but it is something to chat about. Been nice chatting w...

If your music is registered with BMI or ASCAP, as it should be, notify them and give them the info on the guy. If the recording is of covers, however, they may want to chat with YOU about your sales, etc. If the recording is of material you have composed, whichever aforementioned organization you ar...

Don't know if it's as good as it used to be (what is), but about 40 yrs ago my entire family would drive over 30 miles to eat barbeque at Stubby's in Hot Springs. Part of the thrill of the trip was to drive down Central Ave and look thru the front windows of what used to be the Southern Club at the ...

Could anyone give me an about 4 to the bar chord chart for "Chinatown"? I is stuck. Don't have a recording available, but am trying to remember Bob Wills' version.

Without a doubt, we should strive to protect any intrusion on our ability to make money with live playing. Hopefully, the time will come when the general public will realise the value of live people playing live music. As most can see, however, the skies are indeed cloudy when you look in that direc...

B 3 is a great instrument for any application, but Chas is right-they are a load! I once hired a B 3 player and one of the requirements for his participation was that I helped him load in and out. It was worth it (I was a lot younger/stronger).

Your dissappointment is understandable. However, from the point of view of the Derailers it might be that they can't afford one for the money they're making at these gigs and don't have the time to find one, that can play, willing to work (and travel) for the money. If they could do it, they'd proba...

Yea, Chas. Falwell can blame who he wants, but the people he blames didn't give the Taliban and Ben Laden money, arms, and training to fight the Soviets. Our gov't did. Now we got to go get a refund. I could go on and on about people running their mouths like Falwell and not watching the watch lists...

Bovine is a great player. Will Ray also. The rest of the Hellecasters, John and Jerry are also amazing. Their seperate solo projects and sideman jobs make it hard to find time to be Hellecasters. But they manage a few gigs. I've got to try to get Will and Bovine to come with me on my World Tour this...

Great band. Had as excellent taste in music as you'd expect from such experienced cats. "She Don't Love Nobody" is probably my favorite cut of theirs. Isn't that a John HIatt song? He probably made more money than they did off it. Those worthless songwriters and their words!!! ------------...

A realistic idea (quite a stretch for me) might be to take any donations and bequeathed moneys and set up a scholarship program at some university, for steel and steel related musical subjects. This would probably entail approaching a school with a solid jazz dept. (Kenny Burrell directs one at UCLA...

Didn't use his bender very much, as we had Senor Bovine doing the majority of slipping and sliding. He used several guitars that didn't have bende...

Julian certainly belongs in the steel Hall of Fame, at least. The most innovative steel player I've ever seen. A clue about his not being in the HOF was mentioned earlier. I'd wear a Nudie suit every day, even to slop the hogs, if'n they weren't so danged expensive! Even a jacket to go with the jeans (semi nude??) is more than I got in my cookie jar.
