I will quietly fade into the sunset, listening to Willie, Faron, Patsy, Ferlin, Miss Minny, Roy and many other true country stars.

Today's are unreasonable facsimiles of the people who came before them and paved the way.

Much easier to destroy a current style than create a "new" genre.
Highjack and over time replace the "old!"
Glad I stocked up on what I call country music.

I have no idea if this is possible but is there any way to include tab on the screen along with showing the instructors playing? Or at least provide tab for what is being played. I would also suggest for beginner dvd's, videos use familiar songs for the initial exercise. this way at least the melody...

Go to most instrument sellers and the absence of dobros, lap steel and pedal steels answers the question of popularity and therefore availability. Enticing new players to the world of dobro, lap and pedal steel requires a new mind set on acceptance by the current players and the public. Failure of t...

One way to increase the popularity of the current "crop" of....ahem, country singers is refusing to acknowledge those who came before. Out of sight, out of mind. Less competition. Instrument shops seldom stock PSG or LSG. Many people think Hawaiian when they hear the steel guitar sound. Wa...

With D tuning, what could the other two strings be tuned to on an eight string.
Appreciate the patience.

that helps keep the back straight while seated.
Hope this helps.

We are losing an important part of many of our lives. As I age, wondering what I miss most; the past or important events to come.
George Jones epitomized country music. The good, the bad, the.........well, a life that many country songs mirrored.

Lacking in content. Today's "stars" have few experiences to draw on.Likely were never impoverished. In house writers concocting "pablum" songs for "yuppy"
enjoyment.

I don't know what the answer is. I feel for the musicians, steel and ojnab players alike, on the decline in thought provoking music. Candy coated, mind numbing lyrics masquerading as "country" leave me empty. I am 72, as a way of introducing myself, and remember the days of country musicia...

Ok, reason I am asking is this. Seems to be several different tunings listed on Brad's page for C6. The tuning listed on the chart for 8 string lap steel-C6 is, high to low, ECAGECAG. This is not listed on Brad's page. Adding major's or minor's creates problems. As a beginner at lap steel just confu...

Read the post on plastic coated picks and wondered if anyone ever tried dipping picks in a material similar to what is used on tool handles but on a smaller scale.
