thanks guys- all great ideas. I'm really lazy with the BC pedals- use them for my minor sounds, ascending diatonic runs and turn arounds (the 1-2 frets up with BC and back down), but I feel like there is so much in BC that I'm missing.

In a licks/vocabulary rut

Now that I've been playing a couple years, I feel I'm kind of stuck in a rut, in terms of my vocabulary...just feel like I'm playing a lot of very standard, uninteresting moves...I guess the best way to say it is: my playing is very "standard" - my playing is nice and tight, but I'm stuck ...

eh...I don't think I even had that before..or at least didn't know how to tune it...I usually half levered it. I need to get more mechanical and learn this instrument... I wouldn't mind half levering a 7 raise for a minor sound in the open position.

On another note- I think this might be a good opportunity to switch RKL from lowering 6 to raising 7 instead (along with raising 1 and 2, which is already does). Thoughts?

Thanks for all the help - I gotta pick up an unwound 6th string today.

On a positive note, the new strings are making my guitar sound incredible! I was long overdue.

Hmmm. It is a wound...can't remember what was on the old one. I bet that's it. Do I just have to change to an unwound?

I made a boo boo

So, I went nearly two years without ever changing strings, except as they broke (so, really, only 1-4). I changed all the strings tonight, and my LKL lever that lowers 6 a full tone does not seem to be working. Once I had changed the strings, the B pedal didn't seem to work, but I tuned it up, and i...

Bob- did you get rid of the GFI? You'd don't need the E to F anyways...lloyd green style.

I have private roof area that is about 700 sq. ft...so if it was a nice day and people wouldn't mind going outside, I could organize something. Otherwise, maybe we could organize at a bar one night, for a jam?

NYC Steelers

Do NYC area PSG players ever meet up for jams? I haven't seen anything on the forum, and I have no idea of the size of the community (new to NYC). Thanks

Seriously. Love his pickups. I have one with a coil tap in my GFI. Wonderful tone.

To my ears, the tone will be clearer, tighter, brighter, and more articulate. Not as mid heavy either, I would think.

Victoria - Golden Melody

http://www.victoriaamp.com/amplifiers-2/ (find the one called the "Golden Melody") Granted, this is not a cheap amp - I wonder how it would sound for PSG? Anyone try one? I wonder if this would have a Little Walter type vibe. To me, it looks like it could be a monster amp-of-one for both P...

Enhancing tone - volume pedal

So, my goodrich volume pedal has been a little scratchy. I decided to play without it for a little. I was shocked how much better my guitar sounded going straight through. So much clearer. What could I do to get closer to that tone when using the volume pedal? Black box? Some type of EQ change? Than...

I haven't had a chance to read every post in here, but it seems like a great thread. I'm a young player (27) and pretty new to the instrument, but it quickly took over my life when I started, and I am thankful for that. Also, it has made me a much more well rounded musician and has pushed my playing...

Sweet. Thanks so much. I love the sound of these types of passing chords. I get stuck too often in the stock fills...and forget to and these low note, full soundeding chords.

At 28 seconds--I hear it all the time. A and B with E's lowered? What do you call that?
