12th Fret Intonation

I consistently have intonation problems at the 12th fret. 11th fret is ok. 13th fret, cool. But the 12th gets me. I think the simple (and obvious) answer is that I'm not muting the strings behind the bar and thus getting a harmonic response from both sides of the bar. Does anyone else have this issu...

My New EP on iTunes

Hey folks, I'm a NYC based country musician and I just came out with my newest EP, entitled "In Everything You Do." I produced and played all the instruments, and it has pedal steel on 6 of the 7 songs and a quick solo on "Three Fourths Through a Fifth of Jack" . Would love to ge...

Thanks guys. I think I'll try switching out the string before doing anything too mechanical. I have tried the slight bar slant, but haven't got it to consistently sound good yet.

Thanks for the help!

A-F Intonation Issue

I'm having some intonation issues when I hit a major chord in the A & F position. When I depress the A pedal and F lever (open position) to get a C# major, on strings 6, 5, 4, you have: G#, C#, F (E#). I've noticed (both with my ear and the tuner) that my 6th string G# drops in pitch quite a bit...

Volume Pedal Question

Hello steelers, After just three months of having my Goodrich 120, the pedal is starting to emit a very scratchy sound when I use it. I did buy it used, so I don't know how much wear and tear it had on it before, but it seemed to be in good shape. My question is this: I'm not the most electronically...

I'm curious about this too, Al. I've been playing with National finger picks that tend to wrap around my finger and follow the curvature of it. I've noticed too that some picks stick straight out way past the finger. As a newbie and longtime guitarist, the picks being close to flush feel most comfor...

First Pedal Steel Guitar Purchase

Hello all, first time posting on the forum. I'm looking to buy my first PSG. The models that interest me most are GFI and ETS. Both S-10's are in the $2k range, which is right about my budget. Does anyone have any insight on which brand they would prefer? Or maybe another option I haven't considered...
