Jack - Yes, I went directly in and still had the issue, and tried a different cable. I'll try the contact cleaner. Thanks for the advice.

Output Jack Problem

When playing, I've been getting some cutting in and out. Then, yesterday, the sound cut out ALMOST completely from the amp - I could hear it faintly. I had the guitar player I was with plug into the amp with my set up and there was no problem. Do you think this is an easily fixed situation, or would...

Near the end of the changer? The problem comes from the initial lift off of the strings.

Thanks for the suggestion!

LIfting the bar...

...I am having trouble with cleaning the tone when I lift it off of the strings. I keep getting the metallic 'cling' sound. Any suggestions on how to clean that up?

Thanks for the post! Something I have been struggling with in general is eliminating the metallic cling sound when I lift the bar off the strings. Any suggestions??

Thanks again!

Also, I changed some of the notes for it to fit the steel a little bit better, so don't think it is a TRUE note for note transcription!!

Grateful Dead Touch of Grey Solo - TAB

Folks, here is my attempt at tabbing out Jerry's solo from the studio recording. Obviously, I had to make some notes clearer than others due to his personal take on timing :) Standard tab and K Raises the 1st string a whole tone. Sorry for the poor quality... I will try to scan it ASAP. I also inclu...

Need HELP in Denver!

Hey folks, I have a gig in Estes Park, CO the week of June 16-21. Since I live in Memphis, it would be so much easier to find someone who would be able to rent me a steel for that week rather than fly with my 80 pound beast! I will be flying into Denver and getting a rental car and then driving to E...

Carter Starter and Case

I am selling my Carter Starter that I bought about 4 years ago. I have since bought a MSA and no longer need it. The guitar has a 2" lift kit attached to it (as you can see in the close up of the leg) and it was attached with the adhesive that Carter sells. I assume you could warm it up to get ...

Unless he has acquired another guitar, it's sn MSA Classic with an E-66. Nathan, try this procedure in the 2nd post. You want the bass just below boomy, http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=223731 You're right, Lane :D I'll give that a shot. I feel like I'm giving the strings good, strong...

Thanks everyone! Lots of great recommendations.

I think I try messing with the EQ on the amp, like some folks suggested first, so I don't spend any money

Thanks again!

How do you beef up your tone

Just wondering what other members use to beef up their tone (pre-amps, pedals, etc).

I play through a Nashville 120 and don't use anything other than a goodrich volume pedal. Looking for some basic ideas.

Y'all are the best!
