Emmons S-10 P/P - Change of Heart

I got a few quick replies, and thank you very much for your interest, but I was scrolling though the pics and decided I couldn't part with it. 1K to 2K ... that's a pretty good spread. When I picked mine up 8 or 10 years ago they were going for 1200 to 1500. I've seen a few here lately for 2300 to 2500 but they're immaculate and look like they're very close to original. My wife thinks I should hold on to it and the the flame will somehow r...

Emmons S-10 P/P 6x4: What's it worth?

I have an Emmons S-10 P/P SN 1308 S that I'm considering selling. I got it in trade so I'm not sure what a decent starting price would be. It used to be green lacquer but is now natural. I stripped it down and changed the tuning to a "modified D6" so when I had it apart I went ahead and ha...

Hey Fred. Checked out your site but it was a little more than I wanted to spend. May want to talk to you about a speaker box in the future tho.

Meanwhile I think I've found what I was looking for.

Thanks,

Steve

Peavey Classic 60/60

I just scored this power amp; 60 watts per channel. It has 3 12ax7's and 4 6l6's. I'm wondering if the choice of ax7's makes any difference in the tone or response similar to the way they do in preamps.

Thanks,

Steve

EDIT: One more question: are the 6l6 tube substitutable?

Hey Jody. Thanks so much for passing that on. I really miss some of the old haunts back there and Kicks is one of the most fun places I've played. That was a good 10 years ago. Back then Thursdays were kinda slow but Fri and Sat were always wall to wall.

Thanks again!!

I've been experimenting playing steel like I play guitar .. w/guitar pick and 3 bare fingers. It's a little awkward at the moment because I'm so used to the metal finger picks, but it's getting kind of interesting. My main motive is to be able to switch from guitar to steel on the fly. I don't think...

Wouldn't happen to be any relation to Connie Mims would she? I saw her around the Houston area in the 70's or so, I believe.
