Can Pedal Steel cross over to mainstream(non-country) radio?
I considered this question for a long time before deciding to make my last record entirely with pedal steel guitar and a rhythm section. With the assistance or renowned producer John Whynot (Bruce Cockburn, Blue Rodeo, Lucinda Williams, Colin James, Change Of Heart, Loreena McKennitt, Big Wreck +++)...

Ken Tizzard With Bad Intent - live video
Hey folks,
No fancy steel playing in this one, no pure glistening steel tone, no solo, just using the steel to support the song...enjoy
Long days travel, long nights playing, throat full of glass and yet....

New Earth Drive pedal - warm distortion solution
Just wanted to mention that I picked up a new pedal from my buddy Al (Steel Guitars Canada) last week. It is the Sarno Earth Drive pedal. Being a bass player for many years I always got frustrated by the lack of good overdrive pedals that did not suck out all the low end. Now that I am in tune with ...

tuning question
I guess tuning is pretty much standard. Due to the ammount of "strumming" I do, as the sole guitarist in the band, I have changed things a bit. F#-D#-G#-E-B-G#- F# -E-B-G#-E-B -here is the difference...the seventh string is detuned to an E and an extra change has been made RKL(r) to drop t...

Don, Jay and Jerry Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself and also to have a listen to the tunes. Nice to see some acceptance for being outside the box. As I said , I am mostly a songwriter, the PS has become my method of delivery, and I love it. I was also contacted, through another site,...

I guess introductions are maybe in order...
Hey there folks, Ken Tizzard here. I've been lurking this board for a few years and thought it time I said "hi." A few years back I started playing pedal steel and it has taken over a large chunk of my life. I just finished my first all pedal steel record (well bass and drums, but no other...
