1935 Rickenbacher B6

So I have a friend that has the pictured set up. Seems to be an early B6 without the tone knob. Are they more or less valuable than the ones with the tone knobs? Are they just for collectors or are they good players without the tone knob. I know I can add an EQ before the amp to get the effect of a ...

Rickebacher B6 tone pot advice

Hi Fellas: I have acquired a prewar string thru body B6 (with white knobs) the tone pot (Stackpole 250M) does not seem to alter the tone as I turn it. However, I LOVE THE WAY IT SOUNDS. I would like to have the ability to use the tone knob but not at the expense of losing how great it sounds now. I ...

Help with Rickenbacher Model S - Tuner

I just got a model S grey burst with black pickup. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1029/11642_IMG_5215_3.jpg One tuner peg is broken off so I need to replace the three tuner strip. Since it is metal I need to match to screw holes - has anyone done this so they can recommend a particular brand ...

Rickenbacher B6 plate screw size and source?

I have a B6 with some screws missing (like me) that hold the plates in on the front of the guitar. They don't have a match at my local Lowe's. They appear to be either 3-48 or 3-56 size 3/8 to 1/2 long. Don't want to get the wrong size an crack the Bakelite screw hole like the previous owner did on ...

Where can I buy dots or material to fill in the holes? I can understand putting white out to color it but in mine there is a hole about 1/4 deep for each hole (all of them are missing the dots) so what do you fill the holes with (I assume not white out). Would window putty work?

Rickebacher Electro Model B Bakelite Fret Marker question

I am looking at a post war Bakelite Model B and the dot fret markers (the dots at 3, 5, 7 . . . etc) are hollow - nothing in them? Are they normally filled with something? Could the fact that they are not filled indicate bad treatment or bad storage or other issues. If I get this should I fill these...

Sorry I did not mean fix the broken shaft - they look like they are pressed in to the plate so it is unclear to me how you can replace the broken shaft in the plate. But I would Love to be able to do that and keep the original tuners.

Proper volume Pot for a post war Rickenbacher Model B

Are they 250k pots? I am replacing a 1meg that was put in by previous owner that seems to max volume at 4 instead of 10. Is there a particular brand I should get - should I look for an old vintage one from the era or will a modern pot work properly and not degrade the tone? Thanks!

Well I paid $600 for this one - luckily the store I bought it from has agreed to take it back and give me a refund so unless someone here wants it for $600 plus shipping - back to the store it goes!

So does the wood block line up under the wood block under the bridge or do you push it down more toward the string thru holes? Rickenbacher Sacrilege

I have been reading on this site about the Ric lap steels and seems everyone loves the Bakelite's but the "metal" ones (model 59, S, NS and SD) get mixed reviews. Most of the critics find them "harsh" sounding and attribute that to the hollow metal body. I understand that these g...

Tite-Bond or Tite-Bond II is the go-to stuff for wood repairs, but not so much for plastics. Thanks John. Is the Celluloid binding more like wood (rougher surface) and less like plastic so something like Tite-Bond will work on it where it wouldn't on plastic? I wish you were closer I would have you...
