I have had a Fostex MR-8 for a year now and I really like it. It is very simple to use and all of the frequently used functions are controlled by push buttons and knobs. You don't have to do a lot with the LCD screen and a lot of computer menu selections. It interfaces with a PC for burning CD's. I ...

I play a Carter S-10 I ordered it with the GL 10-1 instead of E-66 for just the reasons you are stating. I'm very happy with it. In fact, I the Carter S-10 comes standard with the 10-1 now but back when I had mine built the E-66 was standard.

I go from the guitar to a Hilton Vol pedal to the NV-400 input. I then use a Boss DD-3 in the effects loop with two short 10" cables. You especailly need good quality cables in the effects loop or you will pick up noise. Also, the shorter the better. I just sit the DD-3 on top of the amp.

Hi Pat, I can't give you first hand experience but only what I observred during my wife's experience with this procedure. First of all, her results were excellent and her recovery time was faster than usual according to her Dr. It looks like one of those "You get out of it what you put in"...

Not sure of the exact mechanics involved here but my guitar has this change and it is perfect. BUT, my gutiar has a feature on it called a "tunable split". Following the procedure provided in the instruction manual I can tune this change perfectly. Basically, there is an extra "raise&...

Sho-Bud Volume pedal sticks

Hi all. I have an old Sho-Bud pot pedal. About 3 years ago it began to "bind up". I could not see anything wrong so I loosened the set screw a little in the brass coller on the pot shaft so as to free the pot from the equation. The pedal then became a smooth as silk. I changed the pot and ...

Hi Jan - Not sure why it was changed. I've never actually seen a Carter with a wood rear apron but it appears to me that any upgrade or modification that involve the cross shafts is simplified with the all metal rear apron. ie: adding a pedal or knee lever. Mine has the all metal rear apron and it l...

I have an old E9 study course put out by Sho-Bud. It's a book and a 33LP record. Jack is the narrator on the record and I believe PF Sr. is the steel player on the course.

Chris -

For pedal steel I use a BOSS DD-3 digital delay through a Nashville 400. It's the only effect I use other that the reverb in the amp. I like the DD-3 a lot. You need the 9v adapter because it EATS batteries.
