Nic, the string order on the Cashdollar C6 is the same as normal A6, with the 6s on strings 4 and 8. I'm just sharping the lowest to make it C13. Having the strings in the same order as A6 means all the grips, licks, etc. are basically identical motions. Since I learned A6 first, it's just been nice...

How many other folks are playing high C13 on eight string?
I have really come to enjoy playing my single neck eight string in a variation of Cindy Cashdollar's high C6 tuning. Basically, I just sharp the lowest string up to the 7th. It is super convenient and fun to play. I love how the string order mirrors A6, rather than the lower 8 string C6 tuning. I st...

Opinions on dobro mic/pickup alternatives to Fishman
Hey there, I'm adding dobro to my list of instruments that I play. I've gotten to the point where I think I've got the basics down and could play out. The transition from lap steel wasn't too crazy. Anyway, I'm looking for some way to plug in, and it seems the Fishman setup is the gold standard. It ...

Folks bringing steels, etc. to sell at Southern IL show?
Just wondering if folks are planning to bring steels down to sell at the Southern IL show. If so, might as well have a thread where folks can show their goods for those who could be in the market for something new.

I emailed them for a quote on split cases, but I never heard back. Kenny, if you have that drawing of the inner dimensions, I would certainly appreciate it. I've found a local company that makes road cases for touring equipment. I might see if they could do something. Looks to be the same kind of st...

I will look into these fiber washers. I went to non-big box hardware store and they also didn't have anything nearly as thin as these. It's not hard to find the right inner and outer diameters, but I'm striking out on finding anything that I wouldn't have to significantly sand down to match the orig...

Tiny washers between Sho~Bud pedals
Hey there, I'm getting a Professional back into gigging shape. The previous owner had taken three pedals off and then replaced them, prior to selling to me. In that process, it seems like a few of the little washers that go between the pedals got lost. I've looked through Yahl's site, and they don't...

Any case companies taking orders?
Hey everybody, After repeatedly trying to get an order in with Hatton, I'm still looking for split cases for a Sho~Bud Professional. Even a single case with wheels, really. My guess is that he's too busy for single orders, with everything going to the manufacturers. Whatever the reason, I'm throwing...

Anybody ever polish up the pedal bar on their Encore?
Just wondering if anybody's ever gotten the pedal bar on their Encore up to a nice shine and what kind of work/tools that would entail. I've got an orbital hand polisher. Seems like something that might make a nice weekend project.

Someone suggested using pliers to get the barrel to turn and free it. That doesn't seem to be working. It's like it is turning at the hex end, but the rest of the rod isn't turning. At least when you grab the collar. When you let it go, the rod turns, but not if you try and grip with pliers. I've ne...

Professional barrel stuck on rod?!
Hey folks, I have had a terrible time with a Sho-Bud Professional that I bought locally. I bought the guitar to learn C6, but the previous owner had changed the back neck copedent. He re-rodded it back to C6, prior to selling to me, but I don't think he ever actually checked to see if the changes wo...
