I use a "Carbon Copy Bright," which has a brighter green case than the original. The decay has a bit more upper mid to it, but it still has the distinct degraded sound of an analogue delay. Usually all of the knobs are set at 25%-ish, though some of the trippy stuff gets a longer repeat. I...

This is my "always on" pedal. I use it in a way that it is more felt than heard, comp way down, blend at about half. I dial up the grit for a germanium fuzz/overdrive once in a while, but just the hair that this gives it when it's barely subtly working is what I'm after. There is something...

Thanks to you both! I'll check out Naylor. I may know someone local who can fabricate bent pipes too. Jon, your suggestion also calls to my mind steel 1" pipe, which could also work and might be sturdier, but would be heavier than I'd prefer. I'll keep working at it and post whatever I end up w...

Leg Hardware for Pedal Case

Hi folks, this may not be the appropriate forum subject, but I wasn't sure where else to go. I'm planning to take on a DIY project to build an elevated, break apart pedal board/gear case with fold out legs. A quick internet search reveals that there aren't many options for leg hardware out there, an...

ok, whatever . My T-Racks3 came as one complete package and installed as stand-alone as ONE package,my choice, I can turn each module on/off with the flick of a switch as well. I think you still don't take my meaning. I'm saying that ozone's features are all accessible in one module.while T-Racks s...

Also, lest you think I'm too hard on IK for T-Racks, I use their Fairchild compressor on my mix bus every time I mix, and I use their LA-2A on just about every vocal that comes through my studio. Their stuff sounds great for sure.

T-tacks is installed as a Stand-alone on my machines, not plug-ins, actually on 3 PC's. It is NOT installed in my Pro Tools ( 2 pc's) as plug-ins, you have the option of doing that or not. The individual modules are NOT available in the effects BIN as I chose for them NOT to be. So there is no clut...

superior by far , why ? :?: Ozone is a much more functional tool the way it is laid out. There aren't two or three different compressors with different functions, there is one compressor with all of the functionality built in to it. And iZotope is very innovative in how it fits all of that function...

+1 for Ozone 7. I have used both T-Racks and Ozone and I will say that ozone is a superior plugin by far, and I will add that I never use the presets. iZotope's eq and saturation shaping are fantastic and it is really easy to get huge improvements if you know what you are doing. But much can also be...

I have a Victoria bassman style amp that I love but I have never been able to dial my pedal steel in quite right on that thing. Something about those 10" speakers doesn't jive with my setup. But it sounds like you've hit the tone jackpot my friend! At least for the time being! Relish it while i...

Dustin nails it. You don't always need a mids knob to adjust mids if the preamp eq is voiced well. And in the case of two knobs, more bass and treble = less mids. Sure lots of EQ options can be nice, but sometimes simplicity is desired. I get some cool sounds out an Ampeg rocket and that has just on...

I use the pigtronix philosophers tone gold. You can get them from pro guitar shop. They have a germanium chip so they don't sound quite as brittle as the standard model. It goes second in line after a Sarno Freeloader and I almost always have it on with the sustain knob at about 30% and the blend kn...

I can second Bob on RME stuff. I have had a fireface 800 for years and I love it. I expect I will pick another one up used someday to double my inputs, but the resale price continues to be high, even though the unit is no longer made. I think that speaks volumes for the quality of the product!

When I can, I like to go direct and mic the amp. If I had to chose one it would be the amp though, so that is where my vote was cast! My setup looks something like this: Pedal Steel > Freeloader > ABY box which splits the signal From there I have one dedicated signal for the amp: Pigtronix philosoph...

Look at it this way... I think it is too bad that rock artists feel like they have to sell themselves as country! I think blurred lines are fun. Rock, country, who cares what we call it anymore? The pedal steel is a great rock instrument! It's all just americana to me. This is too polished and...

I was afraid it would (I did not opt for a Bluetooth keyboard for that same reason) but so far I have not noticed anything. 60 hz hum is a much worse offender when recording amps by far. Especially for me... My studio is situated right under a power line

V-Control is by far the best one I have found, but you'll need to have a wifi network running.

Hi folks, For the last few years I have been taking my steel to an annual jam out in the high desert near Los Angeles. It usually happens on a motel porch. I bought it for my tele, but I use it on steel all the time. There is nothing like...
