I got a Boulder CB-362 for my Gretsch Boxcar. Fits nicely, lots of pockets, just fine for hand-carrying the guitar around.

My mnemonic for standard guitar tuning is ee-ad-gubby.

It's just another open tuning - Em11 (omitting the 9th).

C6 gauges for old Martin acoustic Hawaiian?

What string gauges would you recommend for a Martin 0-18KH? I'd like to try it in C6th.
Serial number is 35689, by the way. Apparently that means 1927?

Recommend open D lap steel recordings?

Does anyone have recommendations for lap steel recordings in open D? That is, DADF#AD low to high.
Thinking primarily in terms of electric lap steel, although weissenborn or other acoustic guitar would be fine too.
Thanks!

Thanks! However ... assuming a guy couldn't afford to buy every Alfred Apaka release (at this point in time): are there any that you would particularly recommend to such a person (to start with)? As for the Tapa Room tapes, "Unfortunately, the file is no longer available" sez mailbigfile. ...

Jules Ah See with Alfred Apaka - CD recommendations?

Hi, I'm looking for recordings by the great Jules Ah See. I know he worked with Alfred Apaka - but amazon.com (for example) lists 59 Apaka recordings avilable. Can anyone narrow it down and recommend 2 or 3 particular Apaka CDs (or LPs) to check out?
