The small Roland Cubes sound good... I like my stereo Mobile Cube but it's not cheap ($160). Very portable, battery powered, mic stand adapter. On our local Craigslist you can usually find a Cube of some kind going for around $100. Thanks for the suggestion. Seems there's several Roland Cube's in d...

I used the DR-880 for a few years before I went to EZDrummer. The DR-880 had far better sounds than EZDrummer, much tighter bass and overall better compression of the all the sounds yet it still sounded like a drum set. EZDrummer is of course a lot easier to program. I spent a lot of time developin...

Hey Billy, you didn't have to thank me twice  In the near future, Ron's going to bring his Boss DR-880 over and we're going to set up a couple tracks to play the Sierra along with. Another cool thing about the DR-880 is it has an input for guitar along with amp and cab sims and guitar FX. I'd ...

Boss DR-880 Drum Machine, Anybody Using One?
A guitar buddy uses the Boss DR-880 in his studio. He demonstrated it to me and this thing is outstanding. The best drums and bass I've heard from a digital source. Sounds very real and is versatile.
Anyone using the DR-880?

I went ahead and bought the Nashville 112. It looks like it's brand spank'n new. The $300 price was to good to turn down. Besides, it sounds fantastic with the Sierra S8. My settings right now are: pre gain 4, low 0, mid -7, shift 700, high -3, presence 4, reverb 2 and master gain 3. Sounds good, bu...

Peavey Nashville 112. What's Your Settings For Lap Steel?
I have a used Nashville 112 on loan from a local music store. I've been playing around with the 112's settings, trying to dial in the tone with my Sierra S8. I'm getting close and thought I'd ask other Nashville 112 owners what your settings are for lap steel. Any tips you'd want to share would be g...

Comparing The Nashville 112 vs Fender Princeton Reverb????
I'm considering buying a Peavey Nashville 112. I'm using a Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue right now with a Sierra S8 lap steel and it sounds good. That said, I also use a Boss eBand that I run through my Bose Companion 3 computer speakers. I've set up a patch on the Boss eBand that sounds excellent...

I think the Goodrich pedal (120) is real nice, but the one I have needed a replacement pot not long after I bought it, which put it on my sh*t list. I did eventually replace the pot with one from Tom Bradshaw and it is very reliable and quiet now. I don't know if Goodrich ever straightened that iss...

I am sorry about posting this so late, but I have a S-8 Sierra with a Jerry Wallace TrueTone pickup and it has a very good tone and sounds very Hawaiian. The video of the pedal steel playing with the TrueTone pickup is not a good representation of the sound of the Truetone on the Sierra. Do you hav...

Playing Backup, Looking For The Best Instructional Material
I'm convinced I need either one on one instruction or good instructional material to learn how to play backup. I've tried figuring it out on my own with recordings, but I'm not getting anywhere. I'm sure the best would be one on one with a good teacher, but so far I haven't been able to find anyone ...

I've been experimenting more with the eBand and have set up and saved a couple more user effect patches using different amps, speaker cabinets and effects. One I put together is a little hotter for some grit. The other is a warmer tone using a hall reverb. If you understand EQ and Effects, it's real...
