A friend of mine stumbled across this guitar the other day and bought it...sadly, this pic is about the only thing that looks good, the guitar is in need of as full restoration. Thought y'all might appreciate it being documented here though...it will likely show up on the sale page later if any of y...

E9 Emmons ABC pedal setup...Raise and Lower E's on left knee...RKR raises 1st and 7th string 1/2 step...RKL lowers 2nd string whole step(it is also connected to I believe...

Emmons brand amp?

I have a guitar amp for sale/trade on Craigslist and a guy offered to trade me his Emmons Lashley LeGrand 600 steel guitar amplifier...I've never heard of these and having difficulty finding any info on it.

Any opinions on this amp and its possible value?

Quicker knee lever action?

On the levers where I pull to the inside(LKR and RKL)I wish I could reduce the amount of travel it takes to get those to pitch.
How would you go about doing that on a Dekley S10 Slimline?
Different hole on the bellcrank maybe?
Heavier strings?

Is this supposed to be loose?

This evening I noticed how loose these were and wondered if it is by design or not? This is where my A B and C pedal rods connect.

Im glad this question came up because I'm in the same boat...been playing guitar a long time using pick and fingers and those metal finger picks just feel unnatural to me.
I think for my own satisfaction I'm gonna continue without the finger picks for now and try them again in a few months.

Re: shorter Steel

Ronnie, good luck on your venture..Are you going to take lessons from someone? When I get mine I will have to make use of the dvd's that are out to learn. Veree I dont know if I will sign up for any "official" lessons or not...I've been playing guitar around here for years so I have plent...

Re: SHORTER STEEL

I've picked up a little bit but really havent got serious yet. I have a "loaner" guitar right now but I just dont fit under it well enough to do much...I should be getting my own guitar soon(possibly this weekend) and then I'll get the lift kit I need and get ready to practice, practice, p...

Veree, I'm a beginner on the steel but I feel Herbs advice is spot on...have a professional do the work or of course if buing new the builder can tailor the height to your needs. I never thought people would have trouble reaching the knee levers...I'm quite the opposite, I'm going to need at least 2...

Thanks for all the input guys. Hopefully I can buy my own soon cause I hate the thought of making any more adjustments to this loaner than I have to ;-)
I've already raised the back legs up a hair, lowered the A pedal and put a LOT of slack in the knee levers so I can get under it.

New guy question about knee levers

Which knee lever change(Emmons setup) is the least commonly used? Heres why I ask... A fiend let me borrow his D10 Dekley w/1" lift to see if I really wanted to play steel before investing in my own guitar. Being a big/tall guy, it took me a few days to find a comfortable sitting/playing positi...

I'd like to know what all is involved in changing to the longer scale length? Was this modification done by a professional?
