Tca 500

I never knew my guitars could sound so good until I heard them through the TCA-500 amp. I knew my guitars had their own unique tonal qualities, but the TCA-500 really brings out those differences very clearly. I have always heard that the tone is in the hands. I believe that to be partially true now...

Ron Whitfield, I forgot to mention that in later years when Town Hall Party was in full swing, Jenks (Tex) Carmen lived on Barlow St in Lynwood. He used to come into the store where my dad worked. My dad invited him to our house for Sunday barbecues. I was just learning steel guitar and played an ac...

It is fascinating for me to read all of these comments here about steel guitar players and the country music scene in the Southeast communities of Los Angeles. I feel very fortunate to have grown up where I did in Lynwood, California. Steve, when I found out your dad played steel for Ole Rasmussen I...

I never did meet Billy in person, but it I think Joe Casey said it best, the guy was a great link to the era when Country Music was King on the west coast. I grew up in that era and enjoyed hearing Billy's recollections and filling in many of the blanks I have in my memory. His presence here on the ...

Michael, I have a couple of suggestions that might help you out. First you might want to use the search feature here on the forum and use the search terms left handed guitar and left handed player. I just did that and came up with several left handed players and a discussion similar to this one. Sec...

Ed, I had these lumps developing in my hands about 8 years ago. I went to my primary care and he sent me to a hand specialist. The specialist took one look and said, "You have Dupuytrens Contracture." He said there was no treatment for it until your hand begins to look like a claw. He said...

Ray, I am so sorry for your loss. Dixie was the first lady I met at an early SWSGA jam at Central Arizona College in Apache Jct. Dixie was stoking the coffee urn and I met her there. She was one sweet lady. She will be truly missed. I know Ray has a gigantic hole in his heart that just won't go away...

Noel Boggs was the individual responsible for me starting to play the steel guitar. I was so very fortunate to live in the same elementary school district where his kids went to school. I was told this was going to happen, but somehow you just push it out of your mind and expect prayer to bring miracles. Our Heavenly Father wanted King with him rather than with us. God knows best. King and Gloria have definitely been fixtures at the Phoenix show. King's absence will be felt for man...

Al, it is through the EFX loop. I don't really use much that the Lexicon has to offer. I usually leave it set on one setting with a little reverb and a little delay. There is a lot on there if I wanted to use it, but I like my sound pretty much straight up.

I haven't been checking the Forum every day, so I didn't see your post until today. I think you made a good purchase. I have had a Studio-Pro 112 for about 10 years. I have a Session 500, but the weight of it can be rather discouraging. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the Studio Pro and was looking...

Rick, I did win the seat last year and thanks to Joe Naylor for that. I thought I might be in a lucky streak so I played the lottery this past weekend. Guess my lucky streak only pertains to steel guitar stuff, but that is good.

A Great Big Thank You to SWSGA and Fred Justice

Being the lucky winner of the grand prize in the Saturday night raffle at the SWSGA show, I just wanted to say thank you to the SWSGA and Fred Justice for making it all possible. That new Justice Pro-Lite looks great in my music room. The guitar has exceeded my expectations with much better tone and...
