time to ask the experts
I met a guy once, named "Rusty" (why do so many of us have nicknames?) who was some kinda old time pro, and he played with a thumbpick and 3 finger picks. When I asked him why, since most use just 2 finger pics, he said "it's a perfectly good finger, why waste it". But I use that...

need advice from those in the know
Okay, I've only had one lesson in my life, and I've been playing for about 12 years now-somebody throw me a bone here-does anyone slope the guitar neck away from themselves (by raising the rear legs)to lessen the bend of the wrist? Also, I watched a pro play once (of course he was too drunk to play ...

bars ( but not sleezy ones)
While I have played in many bars, I'm talking about the ones we use to play steel!!
I have recently begun using a heavier bar, I believe it's 11.5 ounces. The previous one is 7.5 ounces. I seem to like the ligher one for faster player, and vice versa. Any thoughts from you big time pros out there?

bar warming
We all know that it's necessary to warm up our bars before we play, I was wondering what techniques people use. Sometimes I just put it in my pocket, and sometimes I give it to my girlfriend. I don't know what she does with it, but when it comes back to me, it's steamy!! what's your method?

another time........
Used to be in a band that played for the dances after the rodeos. Out in the parking lot, this guy is keeping his girlfriends car keys, cuz she's drunk. She's had enough of it, and wacks him in the head with a beer bottle. The cops intervene, and while they are sorting it out, some good ol boy almost...

Not only is he a living legend, but he has to be the nicest, most generous man I have ever had the pleasure to have contact with. Live on, Tom.

got ya'll beat on these
Once played WAY up in the mountains, for a Christmas party, in a converted school house, built out on a hillside, partially over a fairly steep ravine. Once we got to playin' rowdy, the crowd started jumping up and down. These were BIG people, and I thought for sure we'd end up somewhere in the cree...

my clamp brackets on the Sierra are starting to wear down, where I really have to clamp them down hard to keep the legs in when I pick it up out of the case. Then to compensate,I crank it down hard, which means the lever to release it is buried so deep that it's hard to get my fingers in there to re...

okay, I'm interested in it, I'm zip 95060, any idea what shipping and ins. would be? I don't know how anyone buys a steel, because there is no place I know of where I can go and try one out to hear/feel the differences. I lean towards this one because I already have a Sierra, and I love it. But I ha...
