Wow, thanks guys for all your input! I'm kinda thinking as a few of you have mentioned, it's probably the amp and not the speaker. I have fooled around with the tone controls for days and I can't find that tone I hear in my head, it's just not tickling my tone funny bone. I run a 2010 Fessy SD10 wit...

If you only have that problem with this one band, then it's most likely the in-ears, the in-ear system, the soundman, or all of the above. I hate the in-ear thing, I have found that I'm either too loud, or too soft, playing dynamics are non existant and my guitar just doesn't sound the same coming o...

Why is the Black Widow speaker so good?

This may be a dumb question, but I see alot of talk about the Black Widow speaker. Is it the tone it produces? I have a Fender Steel King with the stock speaker and am real curious if a BW would change the tone for the better, because the stock speaker to me is just ok. Input please?

Thanks for all the tips! It didn't sit longer than 2 months at a time, and when it did, I made sure it sat in the fully backed off position, and if it was in the case with the steel, it was in the full down/forward position. More annoying than a lightly used "High Life" pot going bad so so...

!$350?! You STOLE that thing! I had one for about a year and a half, not a bad starter guitar, got me off the ground and into a new Fessy. Paid $600 for mine, it stayed in tune VERY well and played good too. I sold mine last year on ebay and couldn't believe my eyes when it sold for $1095! They must...

1 Year Old GOODRICH 120 pot already bad.

I bought a brand new Goodrich 120 volume pedal just about 1 year ago, couldn't have more than 6-7 hours playing time on it, and the pot is already bad! It has the "One Million Cycle High Life" 500k pot. Hardly. I don't suppose there is any kind of warranty on this? I have tried calling Goo...

Tone difference between single coil and humbucker?

Just got a new Fessy SD10 with a Bill Lawrence LRX16 humbucker. It sounds great, but I hear alot of raves about Truetones, which I guess is a single coil? Can y'all give me your opinions and hopefully some facts, like which one would be darker sounding, or brighter, warmer, more sustain, etc. I'm pl...

Thank for all the input guys! All the strings seem to go out of tune, and the pedal/lever tuning goes out as well, not a whole lot, but just enough to irritate me, I have a very accute ear. I have not changed strings yet, maybe I need to do that? I have not changed anything underneath yet, only adju...

Break in period for a new steel?

Just bought a brand new SD10 Fessenden and wondering if there is a break in period for a brand new steel? I'm into my 2nd week playing it in my room, usually between 1-2 hours each session, and a good portion of that time is spent tuning and retuning the darn thing, strings and pedals/levers! I'll g...

Why do BLACK PSG's sound better?

Haven't been around here too long, but I've read and heard that BLACK colored steels sound better. What's the deal with that? Is it an insider thing or do they really sound better? I gotsta know! :?
