Val di Fiemme Spruce
Nice to read you Tonu. You own one of my barytone. This wood is similar to Adirondak: clear and sweet but also in the same time you can distinguish all frequencies and harmonics. It fits to fingerpicking being so delicate, clear but deep and warm http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1403/10020_DSC_...

Thanks Jim, this is the absolutely natural unplugged sound.
Consider you have also the pick up.

Hi Ron and thanks for your interest. result I had is absolutely interesting if you consider the volume of a weissenborn which is bigger than a spyder bridge dobro. So you can achieve more volume you can manage for resonance. This is only my interpretation of a good result. Without baffle the sound i...

You can play unplugged and with a floating pick up that you can rise to get an electric sound or down to get a pleasant acoustic sound.
Unplugged it has a natural reveb

Angle
Cherry wood for dobro spider with metal body is wonderful
Ebony give a strong sound in woodden instruments
Maple capped ebony is sweeter
But the angle is more important than material, a lot more important

Thanks Brad, yes I am enthusiastic over this wonderful wood. There is only a micro climate area called Val di Fiemme producing it. Baritone seems to play very full and rich but also weissenborns. This wood is considered the best for fiddles and pianos, but also guitars, only for handmade luthery. If...

Hi everybody, i am an italian luthier and in my production I have also a Weissonator that i call Weissdobro but it is the same guitar. The sound comparated to a dobro squareneck is like the sound of a weissenborn comparated an acoustic guitar. This means deeper and warmer, less powerful with a great...

Other woods are also possible. I would like you to visit my website www.lapsteelguitar.net I live in Italy,...
