The former HW guitar player with Carl Smith was Sammy Pruitt Enjoyed seeing Carl Smith and Sammy in the early 1960s at the Indiana State Fair Carl wore a white suite and Sammy was his band that day Carl was friendly really in charge knew what he was doing for the fans. Great showman.

well, first of all it is a finely written song by two experts at the business of writing hits. This really a hit.
I believe that Rome Johnson was a West Coast singer with a really fine voice he even put it some time singing with The Sons of the Pioneers.

Haven't seen this yet not sure where to put it. Dale Warren leader of the Sons of the Pioneers passed away a couple of days ago.
Greeat singing group and many of their recordings featured Noel Boggs and many other steel players.

The String Dusters that did the RCA recordings were Homer & Jethro, Jerry Byrd, Dale Potter, Chet AtkinsCharles Grean on bass. That is most of them.

Main thing I believe is that Cowboy Copas recorded breeze in the late 1940s and Jim Reeves recorded the song in the mid to late 1950s. Used to hear Copas sing it on his 15 minute WSM show Great performer.

Hank recorded at least 2 songs Lost Highway and They'll Never take Her Love From Me by Leon Payne who was also published by Acuff/Rose. Leon was very popular at the time also the writer of I Love You Because recorded by Ernest Tubb and others. Al

Talking about the singing of Bob Wills...I enjoyed just about every thing he sang...He recorded Goodnight Little Sweetheart Goodnight. That is my favorite by Bob. He recorded it a number of times. The band always did a great job along with him.
