well, first of all it is a finely written song by two experts at the business of writing hits. This really a hit.
I believe that Rome Johnson was a West Coast singer with a really fine voice he even put it some time singing with The Sons of the Pioneers.

In the Tex williams Western Caravan Johnnie Weiss played hot lead guitarand Ossie "Pappy" Godson played piano and vibes. The two guys played some great interplay. Some of the best out of the west. Al

The String Dusters that did the RCA recordings were Homer & Jethro, Jerry Byrd, Dale Potter, Chet AtkinsCharles Grean on bass. That is most of them.

I agree with Eddie, Bobby Foster is my though. He backed up Cowboy Copas alot on the Opry and other shows. Another favorite of mine is I'm Waltzing with Tears in my eyes, great steel guitar solo.(I believe that's the title) Al

Main thing I believe is that Cowboy Copas recorded breeze in the late 1940s and Jim Reeves recorded the song in the mid to late 1950s. Used to hear Copas sing it on his 15 minute WSM show Great performer.

Hank recorded at least 2 songs Lost Highway and They'll Never take Her Love From Me by Leon Payne who was also published by Acuff/Rose. Leon was very popular at the time also the writer of I Love You Because recorded by Ernest Tubb and others. Al

Talking about the singing of Bob Wills...I enjoyed just about every thing he sang...He recorded Goodnight Little Sweetheart Goodnight. That is my favorite by Bob. He recorded it a number of times. The band always did a great job along with him.

Yes, Jerry.I meant to say Harold was a big man in the Cliffie Stone group. Close friend of Wesley Tuttle. I believe that Harold and Jimmy Bryant would do a twin fiddle set once in a while. Jimmy was a double threat fiddle and guitar. Al

I believe George was very active around Ernie and other shows mostly as a trombone player.
